Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a warehouse in Avondale, with flames shooting high up into the night sky that are visible for miles and along I-10, according to Arizona officials and witnesses. There is no word on injuries.

The incident began just after 9 p.m. MT on Saturday when a fire erupted at a warehouse in the area of MC 85 (Buckeye) and South 107th Avenue. The fire spread quickly out of control as firefighters responded to the scene.

The blaze was still burning just after 9:30 p.m. MT and flames were visible for miles. It was not immediately known at which building the fire had taken place and what sort of business is located there, but so far there have been no reports of injuries.

A large number of fighters - including crews from Avondale, Phoenix, Tolleson and Goodyear - are at the scene and people are asked to avoid the area.
