The Buzz: Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as noted paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in this sequel that looks every bit as chilling as the 2013 original. This time around, however, the action moves across the pond, from a farmhouse in Rhode Island to a council house in Enfield, England, where poltergeist activity has settled uncomfortably into the lives of a single mother and her family. The movie is based on real-life events from the late 1970s. According to reports, on the first day of shooting, a priest was brought in to bless the set. Guess that tells horror diehards all they need to know. - Bret

The Buzz: With notable exceptions such as Captain America: Civil War, it's been a tough year for many sequels, and it's hard to tell exactly how Now You See Me 2 will perform since the original was such an unexpected hit. The premise seems to be on point in terms of audience appeal, and the expansion of the cast to include Daniel Radcliffe mitigates the loss of Isla Fisher, who declined a second go-round with the Four Horsemen.

As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people, and their home.

The Buzz: Director Duncan Jones takes on the challenge of creating a big-budget blockbuster based on a videogame franchise with decades of complex mythology and world-building. The CGI Orc world is visually impressive, as are the motion-capture characters. The effects team put an equal amount of effort into details like creating realistic facial expressions for the Orcs as it did into the large-scale battle sequences. One of the reasons I am anticipating this film's release is that its box office receipts could have a major impact on the film industry. Will it break the "Video Game Movie Curse" and inspire more video game adaptations? Will fans of the game accept the version of the characters and world that are presented in the film? Will people who have never played the game go see it? Stay tuned. - Sara

The Buzz: I wasn't quite sure I'd even need to see another version of this story since Luis Buñuel's 1964 film will always be the definitive version. But one look at Léa Seydoux in the trailer, and I was seduced, albeit with slightly low expectations for anything aside from a nasty summertime romp with the material. - Arno

Most of us perceive that world population is still growing at an alarming rate, with declining births in the developed world being offset by growing populations in the developing world. But are these claims of population explosion mere outdated scaremongering or do they bear some truth? Taking cues from the groundbreaking research of statistics guru, Hans Rosling, Misconception offers a fascinating glimpse at how the world is tackling these population shifts. Following three distinct stories, director Jessica Yu grapples with the way in which macro population trends affect the individual. As all three subjects point to the continued failure of top-down policy making to serve the best interests of their populations, Misconception forges an insight into this highly charged political issue, on a human level, to reveal how we are all ultimately striving for the same goal.
