To SSD or not?

Hi all, I'm doing a new computer build and wondering if I should add a 120 GB/250 GB SSD drive to my build or just go with a regular 2 TB HD. Right now I'm leaning towards the latter, as I've seen some issues pop up with SSD's.

Reading this article here:

http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/5-things-consider-buying-ssd/

They mention the lifetime of a typical SSD as 5-7 years. I've had an old WD 80 GB drive in my current XP rig that's lasted me 9 years already, so based on that, the "regular" hard drives seem to last longer- even though they're mechanical. I'm going to get a good high end video card because I run 3D programs that take up lots of space (and I need a card with 2 DVI ports to run my dual displays) and I will put a lot of photos on there as I dump the contents of my 32GB SDHC cards as they get filled up about one a month, so the 2 TB "regular" hard drive will get lots of use anyway. Portatech also offered me a Blu Ray "writing" drive but I chose the regular 24x DVD writer as I don't see myself buying blank Blu Ray disks to store pictures on. It would probably be smarter to store them on 32 GB SDHC cards or the 2 TB HD no?
