Leica releases audio and S-lens adapters for SL mirrorless

Leica has announced the availability of a pair of adapters for its SL full frame mirrorless camera that will allow users to fit lenses from the S medium format system and to use microphones and headphones when shooting video. The Leica S-Adapter L opens the camera to 16 lenses from the S system including the company’s collection of leaf-shutter lens. Read more

Samsung announces ruggedized Galaxy S7 Active

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is a ruggedized "Active" version of the standard Galaxy S7.  The Active comes with the same IP68 rating for water resistance as the standard device, but adds the MIL STD-810G standard and a shatterproof display to the mix. Read more

Nikon offers free battery exchange for D500 owners

Nikon is offering to replace 'early generation' EN-EL15 batteries for D500 users who are getting less than the expected battery life from their cameras. In a statement, the company explains that batteries manufactured prior to a design change in 2013 'may not be capable of the maximum number of shots possible [...] indicated in D500 documentation'. Huawei P9 camera is nice, but it's still a smartphone camera

To dismiss the Huawei P9's imager as 'just another smartphone camera' would be unfair. Huawei claims that by using one monochrome and one RGB sensor, the camera is 100% more sensitive to light than its competitors. We found it to be enjoyably similar to shooting with a dedicated camera, but at the end of the day, it's still a smartphone.
