  Long ago, Jeremy became obsessed with a Japanese-language demo of Chrono Cross; this somehow spiraled madly out of control into a career of writing about video games. Today, he runs 1UP.com and forces his minions to publish daily articles about why Chrono Cross is the greatest game of all time (even though he hypocritically doesn't include it in his list of favorites). Their salty tears are the lubricant that keeps the 1UP machine running smoothly.

  Standing tall at a whopping 6'6", Jose had plenty of career options. But rather than listen to reason, he wanted to write about video games and moved out to San Francisco to do it. 1UP editors took pity and hired him.

  Bob Mackey spent close to a decade in college, escaped with an MA in English, and now writes about video games for a living -- the best possible outcome from so much wasted life. Though he lived in Ohio for most of his days and occasionally calls soda "pop," he has since acclimated to the ways of the Californians and their refreshingly un-Midwestern values. If you want to summon Bob Mackey, stare into a mirror at night and say "EarthBound" three times. You'll be glad you did.

  When Marty isn't busy reigning tyrannical over MyCheats, the Wisconsin-native enjoys eating toast, drinking scotch, and listening to Kanye West's Graduation. He is the only member of the 1UP staff who uses AltaVista as his primary search engine. He once had an awkward encounter with Willem Dafoe that he would rather not speak about.

  Katie's dad tricked her at a very young age to play video games and read comic books on her downtime from playing with barbies and legos. This particular trickery stuck with her throughout high school and college, and made studying a lot more difficult than it should have been. Luckily, she developed a scheme to get out of studying and became a graphic designer. Amongst making pretty stuff, she is now a late-night power gamer and a fangirl of ridiculous things. She doesn't like anime though.

When heâ??s not growing his beard he is rerolling his RPG character twice a day.
