So what exact JPEG parameters do you use in the 7D II?
-
Although that may be perfectly true, it does not explain why the photo's from the 7D II seem so much inferior to those from the Nikon. They both should suffer equally from any sub-optimal ...
-
The 7d II should definitely be able to produce better results than that. My 20D did better... Are you sure you have the JPEG settings set to the maximum quality?
-
"It is important and the more the better." is not entirely true: the best sensor is the one that has the same DR as the scene you want to capture. If your sensor has more DR, it is not used to its...

Whether it's heavier than the 5D III depends on whether or not you want to use a vertical grip. With the vertical grip and 2 batteries inside it, the 5D III is only marginally lighter than the 1Dx ...

u43 camera's can only produce digital files, for which you need another device to convert them to a photograph. Older FF camera's are able to create a picture on slide film.

And a D7200 cropped to u43 format still delivers 14,7 MP, which is very close to 16MP.

I guess no one ever dared to call a 300 f/4 on 135 format equivalent to a 600 f/4 on 120 format?
-
BTW: I just read about the Panasonic 100-400 that does seem to be quite small and lightweight... I'm confused...
-
Now that is totally misleading: light gathering is relevant, because that's the main reason that larger sensors have less noise in general (at same ISO setting), allowing to use a higher ISO...
-
Well, for someone who is attracted to the u43 system because of its advertised size and weight advantage, it is relevant and disappointing to see that this advantage does not seem to exist for...

Well, when Olympus shouts this on their website: SMALLER PACKAGE LARGER WORLD M.Zuiko PRO lenses are significantly smaller than professional DSLR lenses of equivalent specifications. Using a much...
-
Nope, not mentioning equivalence regarding aperture or field of view. I'll leave that to other people like you. I don't mind if you call it a 300 f/4 or a 600 f/8. I'm just surprised that a lens...

Great to see that Olympus has managed to fulfill the promis of much smaller lenses for the u43 system. Oh wait... it's actually larger and heavier than the Canon 300 F4. Huh, why's that?
-
Funny how experience varies :-). I never had a problem with the straps slipping of my shoulder, in fact I find them better that original Canon and LowePro straps in that aspect. And I find the ...

I would like to suggest using one of those neoprene camera/bag straps that are made by Op/Tech and others. Using them seems to cut the weigth of your camera in half.
-
Very interesting reading. When I browse through the gallery of RX100 pics, they indeed seem to be much more 3D than the Olympus pics. It's a bit like looking to the real world with two eyes or with ...

For most it won't matter, for some it will. Fact is that lossless compression has none of those drawbacks, so it should have been implemented in the first place. In fact, I think that lossless...

It may not be very important while storing them on your harddisk, but it does mean that the in-camera buffer will hold 30%-50% less images. In other words: you cannot shoot 20 frames in one burst,...
