Is the 56 1.2 soft in general?

I have taken a few photos and right away I can see this lens is not that sharp compared to my 35 1.4.  Even stopped down a bit I'm not getting that sharpness and punch as the 35mm.  Is "okay" but is not matching the 35mm.

Is this the normal design or did I get a bad copy?
