I bet they'll start by only renting the camera and co-branding the technology. A bit like the Alexa cameras from Arri (which is a much bigger company in its field btw).

Want a cheap and good achromatic doublet (like this lomo)? Use a close-up lens or a screw-on "wide converter" and mount them on a clear bayonet. Use extension tubes...
-
Of course it won't. But then again, we're comparing $10 to $500 ;)

In the rare cases I need strong macro, i use an inversion ring. Cheap and effective.
-
That would be the X100T, basically, which is also more expensive.

Just to add confusion, I discovered that the new Fuji X70 (APS-C sensor, fixed 28/2.8 equiv. lens) is as compact as the Nikon DL. The only drawback is the lens (no zoom) but I'm quite experienced ...

This story clearly demonstrates, once more, that a competent photographer doesn't need a bag full of lenses, if he is good enough.

On my Nikon APS-C reflex I use a 12-24 and a 85 with nothing in-between. I use to have a 50/1.4 lens but, in the real world, having the two upsaid lenses covers you well. So I sold that lens and ...
-
Yes I agree on that. Guess I'll wait for the Nikon DL 24-85 review and see if it's good enough. If not, I'll go for a Panasonic LX100.
-
Great video. Impressive post production skills, also.

Thanks a lot guys. I'll wait for the Nikon DL reviews and browse the M4/3 products you've mentioned. I've noticed the Panasonic GF7 with the 12-32 lens is small and a good quality/price proposal. A ...

Isn't a powerful LED flashlight (like Fenix, for example) with a clip-on diffuser more convenient for that price?

Or... a few and well messed-up ideas. First: my situation. I own a Nikon D200, flash, tripods and some Nikon lenses: 12-24/4 (AF-G) 24/2.8 (AF-D) 55-200/4-5.6 (AF-G) 85/1.8 (AF) 135/2.8 (MF) 400/5. ...

This. Japanese camera makers sold 120 millions cameras in 2010. In 2015, 35 millions (compact, DSLR and mirrorless combined). Just like 1997. Smartphones, on the other...

What I read, filtering the official blurb: "we make tons of money by making the smallest incremental changes which make you buy our mature products. When we'll start to see losses ahead, we'll give...

Thanks a lot, I guessed some external device was involved as the light is smooth and wide, not something a compact camera flash could deliver. Good to know that the post processing was limited,...
-
I'd like to ask how much post processing is involved with the shot @9:48. Really looks like it's out of a DSLR. Also, did you use any illuminators other than the built-in flash, in that shot? Thanks.
-
@Flashback It's possible but aberrations and sharpness would be an issue. That said, the world is full of 2-elements lenses (achromatic doublet). Pentax made a 2-elements lens, the 85mm f/2.2....

I knew it was a good idea :D

1. Take a photo with a 10" tablet featuring a hi-res screen. 2. Put a 8x10" chassis loaded with film on the tablet screen. 3. Expose the film. 4. Switch on the tablet screen, displaying the...
