Fight the conspiracy, destroy Jack Thompson!

Hello, friends. I'm a gamer with no friends like me. No that doesn't mean I have no one to socialize with or pursue meaningful past times. I have lots of friends, but none of them are gamers. Not a one. Most of them think it's a waste of time, some think they're fun but just once in a while as a novelty.

Me, I love them. I don't just think video games are a nifty past time, I really think they're the next major art form. No other mode of art has ever been conceived that involves such depth in interaction between artist and observer/ participant. You can have a blast watching a great movie or reading a great book. But they don't let you make decision. A great game can make an artistic statement not only from the creator, but through the interaction with the user. In simple terms, being a gamer lets you be a player in any world of your choosing.

Deciding to become are Dark Jedi or being a hero in Knights of the Old Republic. Choosing whether your 'Seaman' is going to turn out intelligent and insightful, or mean and vulgar. Deciding whether Solid Snake should give in to Ocelot's torture, or struggle to save Meryl. These are all elements of choice that makes games a new type of art form.

Hopefully, this is all leading us to a new generation of video gaming that challenges us to think for ourselves. God, knows we need it in our society of media addicted, mentally decayed puppets of the system. Power to the people!

The developers changed the voice actor from the first game?  Interesting.  In a way, it's a relative thing.  You could either see it as a change to a series or just a twist on a game... within the same setting, haha.  Good points you put out.
