Did you check that you had the latest firmware for the 24-105? According to a Swedish site, several of the compatible lenses need updating to the latest firmware via the Sigma lens cradle to work ...

Good point. If I'm not mistaken, the FE55 is really good for IR. Not sure about the WA options though. Would have been sweet if somebody could test the Loxia 21 and Batis 18.

Bear in mind the startup is slower after a battery change. But if the camera is unresponsive even if you haven't swapped battery, it definitely sounds as if something is wrong with your unit or lens.

If you use Lightroom, there is a filter function you can use to see in which FL interval you have used the 16-35 the most. That should give you a good estimate of which prime to look for.

Ranking looks weird. If we look at the Loxias, I would definitely rank them in the opposite order, 21, 50 and 35 (yes I have used or owned all three). Just a testament of how opinions differ.

Simply because your 16GB Sandisk is NOT an SD XC card. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3909141

These are the bracketing options available on the A7RII: (1) 3-image: 0.3 EV, 0.5 EV, 0.7 EV, 1.0 EV, 2.0 EV, 3.0 EV (2) 5-image: 0.3 EV, 0.5 EV, ...

Yeah, that is a weird one. The risk of getting banding on photos due to bad card vs risk of banding due to Silent shutter is like 1 to 1000. I have no clue why people obsess so much about cards. He ...

Depends on your requirements. But if you really want to know what your old Pentax can do, a simple adapter is only ten bucks. But I am pretty certain it's no match for modern optics like the FE55 ...

Focusing stopped down has been my approach from the get go. Makes the shooting procedure much more fluent IMHO, and I have no problem dealing with the extra lag and noise when shooting in low ...

Let me ask, do you often underexpose and lift exposure in post? The sample, is it a crop or a downsampled full shot?

It's because you used Silent Shutter in fluorescent or PWM light. SS is great, but you must pay attention to the actual conditions when using it. You really should try the search function on the ...

Because pretty much every FE lens already has a ring or linear type ultrasonic (SSM) focusing, it kind of is the default (until recently with the cheap FE 50 having a simpler servo motor solution). ...

Did a sloppy overlay, trying to match the charts. The L21 has a tiny lead in the centre/mid, B18 looks a bit better in the edges, and they are both pretty equal in the corners, maybe a tiny lead ...

+1 I just bought a small rig with 4x4 filter holders + variable 4x4 ND. Will help a lot when filming and shooting complex time lapses. Definitely. Up to 50mm, I enjoy manual focusing very much, but ...

I suggest Davinci Resolve. It's free for private use and supports the Sony XAVC-S files right of the bat, both HD and UHD. It is primarily an excellent grading tool but also has basic editing ...

I had an issue resembling yours for a while. I used EF adapted (metal Leitax flange replacement) Rollei lenses on my Metabones, and one lens made my A7x camera freeze occasionally. Seemed weird to ...

Go for A6300. Crop lenses will always be cheaper than FF lenses. We have no clue what Nikon lenses you own. If they are only the basic DX lenses, they won't fetch that much money on the used ...

Okay, that'll explain it. :) What card did you use, and did it come from a reliable vendor? There are counterfeits out there...

No, you cannot have the Smart Remote app saving raw only. Reason is most likely the fact that the in-camera app wants the jpegs to send to the smartphone (if previews is selected). Just saving raw ...
