@Timbukto, We agree then that it would create "more work". And to that I say, no thanks. In theory, a manufacturer could do what you say, but they don't now.

@Timbukto, Call me an old ASA-fogie because I like having good exposures when I preview my photos. Shooting your way would create more work, adjusting sensitivity for a bunch of dark photos. That...

@fatdeeman, To defend the 5-stop push, you try to have it both ways, thus contradicting yourself. You say: it's a stress test, a worst case scenario, not a typical usage. But you also say: a...

DPR now has 5 stop pushes in EVERY camera review and every article about DR. You see, on DPR, 5 stop pushes are really, really important. It is the standard by which cameras are judged.

I push all of my photos by 5 or 6 stops. Don't you? Pushing has boosted my creativity, my print quality, my street cred and my personal income. It's so important that every camera I buy must pass...

Canon and Nikon have plenty of lenses. No shortage of lenses for either.

That would be good indeed. Don't wait for Sony to figure it out.

Certainly not in that photo. I doubt it will have a filter thread.

It's not that people "don't know any better". It's that people know what they see. When they see typical photos from this camera, they will see photos that are perfectly fine. And when they...

@2eyesee, I don't know where you get those specs as the T6 review isn't up yet. Besides, your complaints about noise in image 8 bring your judgment into question. Regardless, there is more to a...

Cameras that people actually like. :)

Canon makes cameras with big viewfinders too, just not in the Rebel series.

"disappointing" is in the eye of the beholder. I see a camera that is excellent for making photographs. Not disappointing to me.
-
Oh dear, I'm so uninformed. I have somehow helped Canon's market share. But, dang, my Canon pics are still so good and satisfying. Maybe I should be sad that I'm missing out on those "flexible...

Agreed! Camera passes the cat test. :)

Photo # 8 looks perfectly fine. The camera does exactly what it's supposed to. You seem to have hyper-critical expectations of this entry level camera.
-
@BarnET, Still making fabulous photos with my "disappointing" DOA Canon cameras. Sorry they don't work for you!

18mp is plenty for me. Most photographers don't need any more. Actually at about 8mp I had all I needed. And at 12mp I felt I had more than enough. And that's for professional work.
