The Q7, usually with an 06 on it, remains my favorite concert camera. It's the perfect compromise between IQ and travel light, unobtrusive shooting. https://www.flickr.com/photos/8954212@N03/album ...

Jim is correct, and DP Review did exactly the wrong kind of test recently, which they had to retract and redo because they additionally did not process the files appropriately afterwards. But the ...

Review of Pentax on DPR is problematical. They have occasionally called attention to trivia (rubber SD-card door on K-01, LEDs on K-S1) while failing to mention other significant features, and...

As for me, I wouldn't have expected pixel shift to perform supercomputing miracles on moving foliage or moving water in the first place. I think it was a poor scene to test. In shots like that, ...

Thanks for that quote. A scene in which nearly everything is moving -- flowing water and breezy foliage -- is not what PS was intended for.

Thanks very much. Just what I wanted to see. It looks very serviceable in the "TLR mode," especially with the horizontal level so visible. I say well done, Pentax designers.

Excellent. Thank you. I wasn't aware of the hinge at the top. It's better than I expected.

Can someone with a K-1 please post a picture of the K-1 being shot at waist level with only the bottom 2 LCD screen legs pulled out? I'd like to see how useful the angle is. I believe Pentax ...

K-1 looks like clear proof that Ricoh has nurtured the Pentax acquisition with planning and care, while allowing the Pentax tradition of great ergonomics in robust bodies, and sticking with K-mount...

Yes, it is Bodiam Castle. I made typos on uploading, but found no way to correct the spelling. I was concerned about it, and you are correct to point it out. Thank you.

Pentax definitely has AF adjustment on individual-lens basis in its cameras for some time now. I don't know if the implementation is the same as shown here, since all of my Pentax lenses have been...

"In the case of the PENTAX K-1, its designer made thorough preparations for creating PENTAX’s first 35mm full-frame model, by regarding the multi-faced structure of its large, beautiful glass-made ...

I agree. BC was an acknowledgment of the DoF problem and an honest but imperfect attempt to deal with it. You pretty much just have to blur the background in post with a Q camera.
-
BC on the dial is "blur control," which is intended to compensate for lack of DoF with the small sensor. i used it here with the 01 lens, i think

. . . and one would think it would have been designed before being built.

Get a second battery. Otherwise, I've had no negative issues at all with K-S2. I got the white one, which I thought might show scuff marks easily. It turns out that the outer case material is ...

WG-M2 might be very worthwhile. I have the M1 and like the non-go-pro form-factor. M2 is smaller and better, but less pixels for stills. Remote operation with the app and an iPhone works well. ...
