X-pro2 36-42mp resolution.

Now that I've discovered RT rl-deconvolution, lol, it really was worth going back to the dpr and ir samples I think to check the reality. Reality is, Xpro2 has incredible inherent resolution but realising it is something else! It's not truly achievable with fuji bundled raw converter, why? And for windows users I have no way of knowing one way or another if irident is the solution or can even improve on RT. But using RT it is obvious that rl-deconvolution is the way to go, just adjust to taste. RT is not perfect but like most converters you need to work at it.

Some comparisons,

36mp xpro2

43mp xpro2

Sony a7rii

xpro2 are converted in RT 4.2.976 and output is 8bit jpg imported to LR and blowup 3 plug-in to 8018x5353 and then o/p full size as jpg and downsize to 36mp. A tiny bit clarity, 5 and contrast, 5 and sharpnes 7, 0.5 was added in lr.

Similar flow for dpr sample,

43mp xpro2

36mp xpro2

In the case of the above example c/w a7r it is very difficult to see any meaningful difference imo, in which case the 24mp x-trans really is 36mp bayer equivalent, maybe more in fact depending on your aversion to bayer sensors.
