Jon WattsClown has already reached legendary status, without most horror fans even seeing it yet. Originally made a fake trailer, one that featured Eli Roth’s name attached as a joke, it didn’t take long before Roth and Co. actually approached Watts to do a feature version. While it was filmed some time ago, genre films yearning for some evil clown terror can now celebrate, with the announcement of its June 17th theatrical/VOD release date via Dimension/Anchor Bay.

Produced by Eli Roth, Clown is directed by Jon Watts, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Christopher Ford. The film stars Peter Stormare (Fargo), Laura Allen (TV’s “All My Children,” “The 4400”) and Elizabeth Whitmere (The Last Hitman).

12 April 2016 1:32 PM, PDT

While a lot of people tend to reference The Silence Of The Lambs as their introduction to all things Hannibal Lecter, I grew up adoring the hell out of Michael Mann’s 1986 thriller Manhunter. Brian Cox did one hell of a job as the notorious cannibal, with both William Petersen (To Live And Die In La) and Tom Noonan (Heat, Late Phases) aiding in making the film an absolute classic, one of the few perfect thrillers.

Thanks to the wonderful gang at Scream Factory, it looks like we’re getting an Epic Collector’s Edition Bluray release of the film, one that is Very loaded with brand new special features and two version of the film. Will you fright fanatics be picking this one up? God knows I’ll be.

The first film to feature the iconic character Hannibal Lecktor, Manhunter follows former FBI profiler Will Graham (William Petersen, To Live and Die in L.A., »

Exclusive Trailer Debut: Meathead Goes Hogwild

12 April 2016 1:10 PM, PDT

One of the many films that left quite a mark on us during last year’s Fantasia Film Festival, was the often funny, thought provoking film Meathead Goes Hogwild (review). Feeling like if Falling Down and Taxi Driver met a young man doing his best just to spread good, the film boasted one hell of a performance from lead-man Kevin Cline and was a film that I still think about regularly. Focusing on a young man who over the course of one night, loses his job and eventually, his mind, leading him on a primal quest.

We’ve got the exclusive trailer debut for this humorous, odd and powerful film, and we’re ecstatic to show it to you fright fanatics. The film screens this coming week at both the Calgary Underground and Cinedelphia Film Festivals, so if you’re nearby, Please check this one out. It’s kind of a real masterpiece. »

Looks pretty intense, right?
