White House Race 2016

After eight years of Barack Obama occupying the White House, both the Republicans and the Democrats will be presenting new candidates to contest the presidency in November 2016. That will mean both parties subjecting candidates to gruelling primary campaigns, in which challengers go state to state, battling it out to become their party’s nominee. While Hillary Clinton looms large over the Democratic field, the Republican primary contest promises to be a more tightly contested affair, although Jeb Bush has emerged as an early frontrunner. Will next year’s election pit another Clinton against another Bush? Or will a new generation emerge to interrupt the march of these two American political dynasties? With no incumbent in the mix, it’s a long and unforgiving road for both parties and their candidates – whoever they may be.
