Marvel Concept Art Reveals Cut Ant-Man Villain and Secret Spider-Man Message

4 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

At one point in time, Ant-Man was slated to be the first Marvel Phase 3 movie, but it was eventually shifted to become the final Phase 2 movie, paving the way for Captain America: Civil War to kick off the latest slate. As we look ahead to the future of Phase 3, new concept art images have surfaced, which tease that Ant-Man almost featured the presence of an iconic Marvel villain, while Captain America: Civil War almost showcased a secret message between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland). If you still haven't seen either of these movies yet, there will be spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.

The Ant-Man concept art surfaced on the official website for artist Josh Nizzi, which reveals that the villainous Arnim Zola, played by Toby Jones, appeared in the movie at one point. Toby Jones made his McU debut as Arnim Zola »

Concept Art Teases Iron Man's Involvement In Spider-man: Homecoming, And More!

5 hours ago | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Right around the time we broke the story that Marvel Studios and Sony had officially struck a deal that would bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we hit you up with some story details. We let you know that Peter Parker would be a legit teenager this time around; That the high school setting was going to be a big part of the movie; And that Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man was going to have a big hand in getting Spider-Man ready for life as a superhero.

At the time, that last part seemed like pie in the sky. All the discussion surrounding Downey Jr. at the time centered on how his future with Marvel seemed a bit cloudy. His contractual commitments had been met, his series of solo films had seemingly concluded, and his price tag had soured to insane levels. So, for some skeptics, »

Captain America: Civil War Concept Art Shows Off Alternate Spider Signal Designs

In Captain America: Civil War‘s after-credits scene, Peter Parker discovers that Iron Man has left him a surprise in one of his web-shooters when his bedroom is suddenly lit up with the Spider Signal. In the comic books, Spider-Man used that to announce his presence to criminals, but this hi-tech version will seemingly help the hero out in other ways.

We’ll have to wait until Spider-Man: Homecoming to learn more about that, but some new concept art from Captain America: Civil War has found its way online today which offers a look at some alternative designs. Created by Perception (a VFX company that’s worked on a number of Marvel movies), one of them in particular is very interesting.

Zendaya says her Spider-Man: Homecoming role is not a love interest

22 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

If rumours are to be believed, Zendaya is portraying Mary Jane Watson in next year’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, although in a new interview with THR, the pop star and actress has suggested that her character is not a love interest for Tom Holland’s Peter Parker.

“My character is not romantic,” said Zendaya. “My character is like very dry, awkward, intellectual, and because she’s so smart, she just feels like she doesn’t need to talk to people, like, ‘My brain is so far ahead of you that you’re just not really on my level.’ So she comes off very weird. But to me, she is very cool because she’s deep. She’s always thinking about something, always reading. I like that. And I also like that I don’t really have to do anything for hair and makeup. I just get to walk in and walk out. »

Disney Falls Short of Earnings Projections for Second Time in Five Years

10 November 2016 1:36 PM, PST | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

Updated: Disney missed quarterly financial projections on Thursday for only the second time in the last five years. The entertainment conglomerate posted fourth-quarter earnings of $1.10, 10 cents less than the prior year quarter and six cents behind analysts’ estimates.

Quarterly revenue also lagged slightly behind projections at $13.14 billion for the three months that ended on Sept. 30, compared to the forecast of $13.52 billion, which would have been in line with the fourth quarter in 2015. Disney has fallen short of analysts’ projections only twice in the last 20 quarters — in the second and fourth quarters of this year.

The shortfall was connected, at least in part, to declining performance at Espn, the all-sports network that has powered Disney earnings for years, but has seen a decline in subscribers over the last three years. Revenue in the corporation’s cable networks, which include Espn, dipped 7% for the quarter to $3.95 billion. Operating income took an even bigger hit, »

Great Job, Internet!: No, this is how to do Ant-Man cosplay at a sci-fi convention

10 November 2016 1:00 PM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

Some superheroes lend themselves more easily to cosplay than others. While any dope can squeeze into a Superman or Spider-Man suit purchased at a deep discount from Party City and be instantly recognizable, it takes a little more effort and ingenuity to convey the essence of the size-changing Ant-Man, who is, at the risk of being pedantic, a man who can shrink himself to be ant-sized.

But it seems like a quintet of Marvel fans attending Rocky Mountain Con, a recently concluded sci-fi and comic book convention in the Denver/Aurora area, managed to do just that. A photo tweeted by writer Ricky Tan depicts an incredible chorus line of five Ant-Men, arranged by height from shortest to tallest. All are wearing matching versions of the costume sported by the eternally boyish Paul Rudd in 2015’s Ant-Man and 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, giving the impression that a ...

Iron Man Leaves A Message For Spider-man In This Cool New Concept Art For The Spider-Signal

10 November 2016 12:30 PM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

“His friend was huge, like Huge!”- Captain America: Civil War came with an amusing post credit tag that saw our friendly neighbor Spider-Man (Tom Holland) explaining to his “unusually attractive aunt,” how he received his injuries. After he “technically” told her the truth about what happened, he unveiled his webshooter light, which projected his sensational Spidey-Signal onto the roof. In the final cut of the film, the Russo Brothers went with the design shown in the banner image above, even so, Perception (the graphic company that worked on the scene and countless other Marvel Studio films), revealed an alternate version of Spidey’s signal that came with a message from Iron Man. Check that out below. (Click To Enlarge)   If you can’t make Stark’s message out in the image above, it reads “Swing by the tower. Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland says his version of Peter Parker is unlike anything we've ever seen.

"You've seen the billionaire, the scientist, the soldier. Now it's time to see the kid," the 20-year-old actor explains in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "And every decision we make on set is based off how would a kid react in this situation."

Newswire: Tom Holland will show up in at least six Marvel movies, including three solo Spidey films

9 November 2016 2:16 PM, PST | avclub.com | See recent The AV Club news »

It sounds like we’ll be seeing a lot of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the next few years. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Holland revealed that his current contract calls for him to make at least six showings as the character, with three appearances in the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe—including his well-regarded debut in Captain America: Civil War—and three standalone Spider-Man films

Holland was contractually silent about the plot details of the first of those solo Spider-Man movies, Homecoming—which finished filming last month—although news broke earlier today that Michael Keaton will be playing Sinister Six member The Vulture in the film. The 20-year-old Brit did reveal one interesting tidbit about his take on bite-prone nebbish Peter Parker, though, one that ties into the decision to take Spider-Man back to his youthful roots: “Every decision we make on set is based off how would a kid »

Tom Holland is signed up for six Marvel films

9 November 2016 1:57 PM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

When he was cast as Marvel’s resident wall-crawler, one question that everyone had was just how many Marvel Cinematic Universe films Tom Holland had signed on for as Spider-Man. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Holland has confirmed that he signed on for six films, three of them being Spider-Man solo films, and the remaining three in other Marvel films.

“They give you options and those could be exercised whenever. Like a cameo in Avengers,” Holland said. “I’m unclear as to which movies though. I do know I have three Spider-Man appearances in other movies and three solo movies contracted. But if you have another movie, Marvel is so good at working around it. They’re very respectful of your life, really. They understand that you have to work on other movies, and they try and fix it up so you can work around each other.”

Fox's X-Men status is the perfect opportunity for Marvel to make a deal

A new report from The Hollywood Reporter claims "the reset button has been pressed" by Fox on the X-Men movie franchise. But what if instead of rebooting their film universe, they joined Marvel Studios instead? I think Doctor Strange might have just given them their best opportunity. THR's report says in part: [X-Men:] Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, earned $544 million worldwide, a sharp drop from the $748 million made by previous entry X-Men: Days of Future Past. What's more, stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult have come to the end of their three-picture contracts. If new studio chairman Stacey Snider wants them to return, they won't come cheap. "You're gauged by the success of the franchise," says box-office analyst Paul Degarabedian. "This one didn't engender the love of previous movies. It's time to go back to the drawing board." They mention producer Simon Kinberg is working on a »

The current Spider-Man, Tom Holland, will be around on the big screen for longer than Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield...

We're still living off the giddy delight of seeing Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, but there's much more Spider-Man to look forward to in the Marvel cinematic universe. We're getting Spider-Man: Homecoming in July 2017, of course, but Holland's tenure as Spidey will continue on past his debut feature. But how many McU films has the young actor signed on for?

Spider-man: Homecoming - Tom Holland Signed For 6 Films; Zendaya Puts Mary Jane Rumors To Bed

It’s happened. Marvel Studios once again did the impossible and created another hit with Doctor Strange, the 14th film in the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was a hit with both critics and fans, and as such, has become another notch on the studio’s belt.

But, of course, in true Marvel fashion, it’s not really fun to talk about the movie that just came out anymore. Instead, all eyes are now turning to future films in the McU, including Spider-Man: Homecoming. This film is set to bring back Tom Holland as the titular Spider-Man (a.k.a. Peter Parker), and as was expected, we know that Holland has been signed on for many films in the McU. But how many is the big question.

Speaking with THR, the young actor revealed that he’s signed on to three solo Spidey films, »

Captain America Star Chris Evans And More Weigh In On Donald Trump Becoming Us President

9 November 2016 11:45 AM, PST | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Love or hate him, Donald Trump is going to be the next President of the United States. That's something a lot of celebrities have been weighing in on via their respective social media accounts over the past 24 hours, and as you can see below, the vast majority are not happy that The Apprentice star will soon be one of the most powerful men on the planet (with, well, access to nuclear weapons).  Ironically, it seems like the Sentinel of Liberty himself may have summed up the situation best with the Tweets you see here. Joining Captain America: Civil War star Chris Evans were the likes of Ant-Man scribe Adam McKay, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, and Captain Marvel, Brie Larson. You can check those out below, and then feel free to - civilly - share your thoughts on this in the usual place.  This is an embarrassing night for America. »

Why Spider-Man Doesn't Punch People in Homecoming According to Tom Holland

9 November 2016 10:19 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

After making his critically-acclaimed debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland is getting ready to roll out his first standalone movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming. It still remains to be seen when the first trailer will be released, but until then, Tom Holland has dropped some interesting details in a new interview. As it turns out, his version of the web-slinger doesn't actually punch anyone.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will bring back Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, who recruited him to fight for Team Iron Man in Captain America: Civil War. While Spidey did see plenty of action in the massive airport fight scene, he was largely just defending himself with his Spidey skills. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed that this trend will continue in Spider-Man: Homecoming, since Peter Parker never throws a punch in this movie.

Kevin Feige confirms that Michael Keaton is playing The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming

It’s been rumoured ever since his name was first brought up as a possible addition to the cast, but now we have official confirmation that Michael Keaton is portraying the villain Adrian Toomes, a.k.a. The Vulture, in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“We’ve had a wish list and most of them in the near-term are coming together,” said Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige when discussing upcoming villains for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with The Toronto Sun. “Cate Blanchett is playing Hela in Thor: Ragnarok. Michael Keaton’s Vulture in Spider-Man is something. And of course, finally, we’re showcasing Josh Brolin’s Thanos [in Avengers: Infinity War]. We’re looking forward to that very much.”

In addition to The Vulture, the film will see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man battling Phineas Mason / The Tinkerer (played by Michael Chernus), while Bokeem Woodbine is also said to be portraying Herman Schultz / Shocker.
