Scott Nimerfro, a veteran TV writer-producer who worked on such shows as ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” and NBC’s “Hannibal,” has died. He was 54.

News of his death was reported via social media by “Hannibal” showrunner Bryan Fuller and others with whom Nimerfro worked with over the years.

“Rip @ScottNimerfro Beloved #Hannibal Writer Of Blood Eagles & Mushroom Corpses Now Freaking Out Squares In Next Life,” read Fuller’s post.

Earlier this year Nimerfro, who lived in Woodbury, Minn., revealed that he was suffering from angiosarcoma, a cancer that affects the blood vessels. He said he was diagnosed in April 2015.

Prior to his work on “Once Upon a Time” and “Hannibal,” Nimerfro served as a writer and producer on series such as “Ringer,” “Tales From the Crypt” and “Pushing Daisies,” a dramedy also created by Fuller.  In 2000, he was an associate producer on the Bryan Singer-directed feature “X-Men. »
