The Dark Tower Added Jackie Earle Haley In A Role You Might Not Remember

One of the hottest tickets in Hollywood right now is Nikolej Arcel's adaptation of Stephen King's legendary fantasy series The Dark Tower. With production recently getting underway, the cast list is still being revealed to us, with one of the villains being the latest revelation. London Has Fallen's Jackie Earle Haley has been cast as the menacing Richard Sayre, a humanoid leader of the vampires in the world of gunslinger Roland Deschain. Deadline reported the casting coup that landed Haley as a figure that plays prominently in the last three books of The Dark Tower's saga. Richard Sayre is a "can-toi," or "low man" who has a distinctive look about him. Namely, he has an ever static pool of blood on his forehead. Sayre works for the Sombra Corporation, which in turn reports to the big bad of The Dark Tower universe, the Crimson King. No »

A Utah Theater Is In Big Trouble For Showing Deadpool, Here's Why

Deadpool crashed into theaters this February, defying the laws of gravity, comic book movies, and moral decency. Strangely enough, that last claim became a reality recently as Utah movie theater Brewvies have found themselves in a bit of a legal firestorm, as they've shown the Ryan Reynolds film at their Salt Lake City location. The offense in running the R-rated thrill ride? It depicts sex acts and nudity, which legally can't mix with alcohol in the southern state. The report of the "grave violation" came from local news affiliate, Fox 13, stating that two Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control officers had taken part of a screening of Deadpool while undercover. Their reporting lead to the the movie theater being cited as breaking the Dabc's laws against showing sexual content while alcohol is being served, and the theater will be involved in an administrative hearing stemming from the February 23rd viewing »

Watch Robert Downey Jr. Recolor The Eiffel Tower For Captain America: Civil War

The conflict between Team Captain America and Team Iron Man has extended beyond just Captain America: Civil War itself. As the Marvel blockbuster’s press tour gets underway, its actors have been sniping at their opponents on the other side, but Robert Downey Jr has taken all of this to the next level…scratch that, several stories up, by hacking the Eiffel Tower’s lights to show off his team’s colors. Check out the amazing light display below! Downey attended Captain America: Civil War’s Paris premiere with Don Cheadle, Emily VanCap and co-director Anthony Russo at the Le Grand Rex theatre, but while there, he also paid a visit to the Eiffel Tower, or, as it’s also known, the Iron Lady. Assuming his Tony Stark persona, the actor noted not only how much of a technological triumph the landmark is, but »

The Captain America Costume That Chris Evans Loves The Most

Much like Iron Man, who has reformatted his armor nearly 50 times in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Captain America has gone through a number of costume changes during his time on the big screen. Chris Evans has played the patriotic hero in five movies . including the upcoming Captain America: Civil War - and there.s an average of one new costume in each film. Of course, fans have had arguments over which one of the iterations is best, but in Evans. mind it.s really no contest: he really loves the stealth suit from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Chris Evans during the Captain America: Civil War press day in Los Angeles earlier this month, and during our quick interview one question I asked was about the various costume designs he.s worn in the last five years. Responding to being asked if »

Today is Tax Day in the United States, which means that folks are sending in the necessary documents to the government showing how much they earned over the last year and what deductions were necessary in their line of work. Deadpool is no exception, and to prove it, he’s posted a lengthy list of some of his business expenses bought in just one shopping trip.     Business expenses. #TaxDay A photo posted by @deadpoolmovie on Apr 18, 2016 at 11:03am Pdt Being a mercenary isn’t a cheap job, which is why Deadpool is making sure that his beloved fans get an idea of how much he spends during his activites. Of all the characters that we met In Star Wars: The Force Awakens there is nobody more interesting than Rey. Even she is in the dark about much of her own history, and so, we as fans are also missing many details about who she truly is. We don't know where she came from or why she has a connection to Luke Skywalker. There is a great deal of information that we do have, and much we can consider. Here's everything that we know about Rey as it pertains to Star Wars: Episode VIII. Where Star Wars: Episode 8 Will Begin Our first image of the beginning of production on Star Wars: Episode VIII seemed to be of the exact same scene that ended Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Why Marvel Movies As We Know Them Need To Change, According To Civil War's Directors

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has remained a consistently enjoyable world of movies for the better part of the last decade. However, no matter how good something is, people will inevitably become callous to the same thing over and over again. Responsibility falls upon filmmakers to break new ground and try things that audiences either haven.t seen or won.t expect. The Russos seem to understand this idea, and firmly believe that big changes are needed in order to make sure that the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains viable.   During a recent interview with EW to discuss the imminent release of Captain America: Civil War, director Joe Russo explained the importance of change with regards to keeping the McU consistently fresh: You build things up and people enjoy the experiences you.ve built up. But then you kind of reach an apex or you reach a climax, a moment where you »

How Infinity War Is Affecting The Development Of Captain Marvel and Ant-Man And The Wasp

In the next few years, Marvel Studios has some very interesting scheduling planned for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only will they be releasing their first two-part blockbuster in the form of The Avengers: Infinity War, but both Ant-Man And The Wasp and Captain Marvel will be released between the two halves of the story. This is posing a unique challenge for screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and it.s one being sorted through with constant communication and parallel developments in story and casting. I spoke with the writers at the Captain America: Civil War press event earlier this month, and it was while discussing their work on the upcoming Infinity War that they revealed the process of how what they.re doing is syncing up with what.s going on in Ant-Man And The Wasp and Captain Marvel. Markus described it as the duo being in "constant bugging »

For us muggles, the wait for more (literally) magical adventures in the wizard world has become incredibly tedious. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has slowly but surely begun its marketing campaign, but the film itself won.t hit theaters until later this fall. However, not all of us have to suffer through such a wait. Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling has just revealed that Warner Bros. treated her to a private screening of Fantastic Beasts, and we.re all overcome with jealousy.   You know what rounds off a great day? A private screening of #FantasticBeasts. »

Why Star Trek Fans Shouldn't Worry About The Lack Of Star Trek Beyond Footage, According To Anton Yelchin

Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond is set to arrive in theaters in just three months, but the marketing campaign for the movie hasn’t exactly been overwhelming. A seemingly hastily put together trailer arrived online back in December, but we haven’t seen a split second of new footage since – even at last week’s CinemaCon, where a new preview was heavily anticipated. This lack of promotion has left some fans concerned about what’s going on behind the scenes of the movie, but now Anton Yelchin – Chekov himself - has arrived to do his part to calm folks down. I had the pleasure of chatting on the phone with the Star Trek Beyond actor last week in promotion of his new movie Green Room, and at the end of our long conversation about the excellent new thriller, I asked about the »

One Thing Deadpool Director Tim Miller Wishes He Could Have Done Better In Deadpool

After years of languishing in development hell, Deadpool was finally green-lighted in summer 2014 thanks to its animated test footage being leaked online. Fast-forward to this past February, and the Merc with the Mouth’s first solo movie not only opened to great reviews, but has grossed over $758 million worldwide. Of course, no movie is perfect, and director Tim Miller admits that he’d done a better job of showing just how big Deadpool’s world was. While going over the areas where Deadpool could have used improvement, Miller pointed out to Collider how the movie could have benefitted from Wade Wilson’s adventure could have benefitted from feeling more grand. As he put it: It feels like a small movie to me, and I feel like I could have done a much better job of getting us out there and adding some scope. I don’ »

Why Jurassic World 2's Director Is The Perfect Choice

Considering the fact that the Jurassic Park franchise got its start with the world.s most successful director at the helm in Steven Spielberg, it.s interesting that the latest sequels are turning to the world of indie filmmaking to continue the people-devouring adventures on Isla Nublar and beyond. Colin Trevorrow, who directed the delightful Safety Not Guaranteed, had a huge hit with Jurassic World. Today, it was confirmed via Twitter what many of us suspected:   It's official! So excited to join the Jurassic Team!! @colintrevorrow @LeDoctor pic.twitter.com/NMYozo5Umo— Ja Bayona (@FilmBayona) April 18, 2016 That.s right, Juan Antonio (J.A.) Bayona has been handed the reins of Jurassic World 2, as was reported earlier this year. I can hear you already: "J.A. Who?" Which is fine, because this just means that there are a few great movies you are about to discover this weekend when »

How James Cameron Feels About His Avatar Sequels Competing Against Star Wars

The science fiction genre is about to get a serious shot in the arm at the box office. Not only have the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises returned to their former glories, but James Cameron has also recently announced that we will receive no less than four Avatar sequels within the next decade. With so much glorious sci-fi about to grace our screens, a showdown between these two franchises seems inevitable. James Cameron seems to have realized potential risks of going up against Star Wars at the box office in the coming years, and has taken specific steps to avoid that scenario.   Speaking with Famous Monsters of Filmland, James Cameron admitted that the release schedule of his Avatar sequels was planned in a way that avoids potential conflict with the Star Wars franchise: My original plan was to release them a year apart, but we.re opening that up. »

Batman V Superman Was Originally Way Longer, Because Zack Snyder

Even before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters, we knew that an extended cut was planned for the home video release. The biggest news at the time was that the longer version would be rated R, as some of what was cut out was violence. We also knew that at least one character (played by Jena Malone) had her story removed entirely. However, it now appears there are many subplots missing, as the editor of the film says the original cut of the film that had everything in it was nearly four hours long. David Brenner was the man with the unenviable task of trying to edit Zack Snyder's movie down to a reasonable length. Pro Video Coalition conducted an interview with the accomplished professional editor who spoke about the difficulty of the job of editing Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Between the two heroes, their alter-egos, »

Will Superman Fight Black Adam In Shazam? Here's What The Rock Said

News regarding Shazam has essentially been nonexistent for many months, but Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hasn.t neglected his duties reminding people he.ll be playing its villain, Black Adam. Although the black-garbed Kahndaqian primarily fights the World.s Mightiest Mortal, he.s tussled with other DC heroes in the comics, and Johnson has teased a fight between his character and Henry Cavill.s Superman. However, don.t expect the two of them to throw down in Shazam. When a fan asked Dwayne Johnson on Twitter if he would be "ecstatic" fighting Superman, Johnson stated that it won.t happen in "the first movie," but the Man of Steel definitely has it coming. Johnson previously called Superman out on social media seven months ago when he posted a picture of himself wearing a shirt with the .S. shield that had the caption, "No capes." Johnson is clearly eager to now »

As the director of Iron Man and Iron Man 2Jon Favreau played a huge part in defining and solidifying the Marvel Cinematic Universe, providing the perfect foundations for it to expand into the behemoth that it is today. Jon Favreau has since gone on to work on different projects. But he’s now admitted that he’s still creatively involved with the studio. In fact, like he was on Avengers: Age Of Ultron, he’s acually working as an Executive Producer on Avengers: Infinity War. Jon Favreau made this admission to Digital Spy while talking about his latest directorial outing, The Jungle Book. But while Jon Favreau’s comments suggest that he doesn’t have any plans to return as a director for Marvel, he did admit that he’s constantly in discussions with Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo. The Ridiculous Amount Captain America Might Make On Its Opening Weekend

While it.s essentially impossible to decide when the "summer movie season" starts anymore, as we.ve already seen several big action blockbusters premiere, the first weekend of May has been one of the default dates for the last several years. If this year is any indication, summer could be getting off to one it.s biggest starts ever, when Captain America: Civil War debuts May 6. According to tracking, the superhero epic could see a domestic gross upwards of $175 million during its debut frame. To put that number in perspective, $175 million would be the fifth-highest grossing opening weekend ever according to The Hollywood Reporter, behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World and the two Avengers films. This would also put Captain America: Civil War ahead of the last big superhero movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice who saw an, impressive in itself, $166 million in its opening weekend. »

When Anakin Skywalker was badly burned and maimed during his battle with Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was clear that quite a bit of medical technology would be needed in order to keep the young Jedi alive. While we.ve never stopped to wonder what the cost of the undertaking would have been, somebody has. You.d probably guess that becoming Darth Vader would be an expensive endeavor, but you probably wouldn.t have guessed it would cost over $18 million. According to Shade Station, the total price tag for transforming from a crippled Anakin Skywalker into Darth Vader comes in at $18.3 million.
