Liam Hemsworth is making a trip to the American heartland. The "Hunger Games" beefcake has signed on to star in "Cut Bank," a new thriller from director Matt Shakman ("Psych," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") that centers on a 25-year-old former athlete-turned-mechanic whose attempts to leave his hometown of Cut Bank, Montana (the "coldest town in America") set in motion a deadly chain of events. Written by Roberto Patino ("Sons of Anarchy") and co-starring John Malkovich, Teresa Palmer ("Warm Bodies"), Bruce Dern, Oliver Platt and Michael Stuhlbarg, the film commenced principal photography on June 12 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Emmy nominations ballot 2013: Surprises from 'Game of Thrones,' 'Downton Abbey,' 'Mad Men,' 'Bunheads' and more

12 June 2013 11:10 AM, PDT | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

The official ballots for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards are now available online, and while they won't tell us who's going to be nominated, they can tell us who won't be.

We scoured the ballots to dig up the notable omissions (if you were hoping for an Arya Stark nomination, better luck next year) and surprising inclusions (go get your directing nomination, Jennifer Love Hewitt!).

Where's "Bunheads"?

Every ABC Family original series (including "The Lying Game," "Baby Daddy" and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager") is submitted for consideration as either Outstanding Comedy or Outstanding Drama except for the network's most outstanding show: "Bunheads." Huh?

Star Sutton Foster submitted herself in the Comedy Actress category, but "Bunheads" is otherwise Mia from the ballots (even in technical categories like casting, main title design and costume design).

Other shows completely out of contention are more understandable, though Starz's canceled "Boss" earned enough »

Which Thrones Fight Was Uglier? Orphan's Pop Quiz? Gay Bachelorette Spin-Off? And More Qs!

7 June 2013 10:45 AM, PDT | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Orphan Black, Game of Thrones, The Killing and Burn Notice!

1 | Why is no one talking about why Orphan Black‘s Sarah left in the first place? And who is Kira’s father?! Oh, and is it Spring 2014 yet?!

2 | What was bloodier: Game of Thrones‘ Red Wedding massacre or the subsequent heated discussion between viewers who have read the books (and were prone to spoil what’s coming) and those who hadn’t?

The Agents of Warehouse 13 Head Into Production of the Final Season

6 June 2013 10:43 AM, PDT | ScifiMafia | See recent ScifiMafia news »

This will be a year of sad countdowns, as we are set to lose the Eleventh Doctor, and Warehouse 13 heads into its final season. It’s at least a blessing that we know, and more important the writers know, far in advance, so that the final seasons for a beloved character and a beloved show will be developed appropriately.

Syfy today announced that production of Warehouse 13‘s final season will begin later this month. Here’s the press release:

Warehouse 13 To Open Its Doors For The Final Time On June 24Th

Psych Season 7 Report Card: A

6 June 2013 9:55 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Psych Season 7 was jam-packed with all the shenanigans, malarkey and tom-foolery you would expect from USA Network's longest running original show, which celebrated its 100th episode this season this year.

So while we wait for the Psych musical to air this December, let's take a look back at what made this season so epic in our latest TV Fanatic Report Card...

Best Episode: "Juliet Takes A Luvah" because Shawn could not seem to catch a break the entire episode and it was. Hilarious to watch. The shenanigans of "Office Space" made that episode a close second

Best Homage: "100 Clues" to celebrate the 100th episode. Complete with alternate endings voted on live by the fans, this episode had everything that makes Psych great, including a cameo from Curt Smith. May he rest in peace... just kidding.

Best Gus Nickname: Blue Ivy Carter. I'm sorry. It was the best pop-culture reference the show made this season. »

Psych Draws Vinnie Jones, Olivia d’Abo & Kali Hawk

6 June 2013 8:51 AM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

Psych is stacking the deck, drawing actors Vinnie Jones, Olivia d’Abo and Kali Hawk, and adding those wild cards to their already impressive hand. With these additions, season 8 should be aces.

Vinnie Jones recently played the bad guy, Sebastian Moran on CBS’s Elementary. I know the former professional footballer best as Bullet Tooth Tony from the cult classic Guy Ritchie crime film, Snatch. He also played the Juggernaut for X-Men: The Last Stand.

It comes as no surprise that on Psych, Jones will play a “brutal British criminal”. I mean, those three words may as well be the actor’s middle name.

Olivia d’Abo was a Wonder Years star once upon a time as Kevin Arnold’s older sister. TV Line reported on her impressive new role as a “master infiltrator” and number two in Vinnie Jones’ criminal organization. How fiendish! Speaking of villainy, d’Abo also »

Shawn and Gus are back to solve more mysteries. Psych is USA's longest-running show right now but isn't their highest rated one. How long will the TV show stay on the air is the real mystery.

Psych typically airs on Wednesday nights and USA has ordered 16 episodes. The show's cast includes James Roday, Dule Hill, Maggie Lawson, Timothy Omundson, Corbin Bernsen, and Kirsten Nelson.

Below are the most recent ratings for Psych. The TV show's ratings are typically the best way to tell if it will be cancelled or renewed for another season but the series has already been renewed for an eighth (and possibly final) season of eight episodes.

Justine Bateman: 'Family Ties' star is now a college student

31 May 2013 11:08 PM, PDT | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Actress Justine Bateman has been in front of a camera since she was 16, and she never took time to attend college. Until now.

Bateman, 47, is close to wrapping up her freshman year at UCLA studying computer science. The fomrer "Family Ties" star records her experience on a (sometimes Nsfw) Tumblr called College Life, which mixes sometimes acidly funny comments on her experience, breakdowns of her course work and stories about "smarty pants women" and others who have come to college later in life.

"I was just thinking about 15 minutes and what can you do in 15 minutes," she writes in one post, "and I realized, when I'm in an exam and the time is ticking, I can get from an 'F' to a 'B' in 15 minutes, MoFo." Mallory Keaton, this is not.

Bateman has continued to act steadily over the years, most recently guest-starring on an episode of "Modern Family." Her »

‘Psych’ Season 7 Finale Review: The Last Suck It

30 May 2013 10:21 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

It is the duty of every good season finale to wrap up a season and leave audiences dangling in some state of distress over the long hiatus to come. In season 6, Psych did this in dramatic fashion with an intense hour that ended with Henry (Corbin Bernsen) being shot in the chest at point blank range. Now we come to the Psych season 7 finale, and while there is a slightly dramatic twist at the end, by and large “No Trout About It” is the recounting of just another zany day for the Santa Barbara Police Department. And where last season the finale highlighted the strength of the ...

'80s Icon Makes Major Waves On 'Psych' Finale

30 May 2013 9:03 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

On the season finale of "Psych," nerdy '80s icon and "Dead Zone" alum Anthony Michael Hall guest starred, and made big waves.

Hall played consultant Harris Trout, who was brought in to keep tabs on how the station was running. By the end of "Pysch" finale, he fired Chief Vick and told Lassiter, "We'll no longer be hiring psychics. And you're no longer head detective. And I'm painting these walls."

"It's on now," a shocked and angry Gus replied.

TV.com said Hall's guest spot was a great way to end the season and TVFanatic loved the "Psych" finale, saying it shows how far the crew has come as a team.

"They can be the most dysfunctional group of co-workers in the building," Chandel Charles wrote. "But when you come into their house and threaten their people ... it is on."

'Psych' Season 7 finale: Harris Trout in, Chief Vick out

"Psych" went out in Season 7 with a less dramatic cliffhanger than a year ago when Henry was shot, but there are certainly bigger implications for the next season.

Harris Trout (guest star Anthony Michael Hall) swept into the station to do an audit of the team's ... creative way of solving cases and decided that Jules, Lassie, Shawn and Gus are all suspended, after they recount the Case of the Week for him.

Of course, they won't let something so petty as a suspension stop them, so they solve the case anyway, which is exactly what Chief Vick was hoping they would do. But the collateral damage is that Vick is out and Trout is the interim chief.

Now, Vick says her suspension is only six months, but we know that Trout is still around for Season 8 because the cast has tweeted pics of Hall on set. »
