Storyline
"A DocumenTree" is the story of Treeman, a plantlike amphibious celestial being sent on a mission by his mother (mother nature) to create awareness among our species, reminding us that "we are not part of nature we are nature". Fueled by the joy Treeman receives when giving selflessly to others, the film is a study in the nature of kindness, an exploration into the human spirit, with Treeman serving as a mirror asking us to examine our own human nature and in doing so discovering the best in ourselves. We follow the 10 foot Treeman all over the U.S. as he walks in his "big shoes", often 12 hours a day, asking the world what do we receive when we give to others without asking anything in return? As Treeman puts his mission above his own survival, we visit schools, celebrations, benefits and parades, riding subways, buses, crossing bridges, a Tree among the people, a joyful reminder for all of us "to stop and smell the roses".
