Once Upon a Time's Karen David Feels the Pressure Playing Iconic Princess Jasmine

28 October 2016 3:58 PM, PDT | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Landing a role on Once Upon a Time as one of the show's remixed versions of a beloved Disney character can be something of a double-edged sword. Just ask their new Jasmine, Karen David. After making her first brief appearance in Storybrooke two episodes back, David's Princess of Agrabah took center stage in this week's episode "Street Rats" as her quest to find Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Agrabah's very own savior, became public knowledge. The introduction of the iconic characters came with the requisite Ouat twists (Jasmine brought Aladdin to the Cave of Wonders, not Jafar, and the two never found time to give in to their romantic feelings), as well as a few winking nods to the unforgettable 1992 animated »

Make way for (Prince?) Ali!

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 5 finally took us to Agrabah, for some Arabian nights and Savior revelations.

We discovered that there is a way to sever the Savior bond, using a tiny pair of shears, and that Aladdin used it. Emma sent Killian to get rid of the shears, but he instead hid them in his pocket.

Elsewhere in the hour, the Evil Queen convinced Zelena to showcase her wicked side again, and Emma confessed that her death is coming.

Did we love Aladdin? How long will Zelena stay wicked? Which character stole the show? Join TV Fanatics Allison Nichols, Steve Ford, Robin Harry, and Caralynn Lippo, along with Once Upon a Fan's Teresa Martin, as they talk about “Street Rats!”

What are your thoughts on Aladdin?

Allison: I liked him. My favorite scene of his was the one between him and Emma in the crypt. »

Once Upon a Time Round Table: Goodbye, Mr. Hyde

20 October 2016 6:00 AM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

Come back, Mr. Hyde!

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 4 gave us an ending to the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde story, with both characters making an exit.

It was an episode filled with additional twists, as we learned that the only definite way to kill the Evil Queen is if Regina dies, leaving us wondering if this will play into Emma's vision from the Oracle. Could Regina be the hooded figure who kills the Savior?

Elsewhere, Mary Margaret went back to teaching, getting a little help from her new friend, Princess Jasmine. David shared some fatherly hesitation about Emma and Killian moving in together, and Belle found herself trapped on the Jolly Roger because of a spell, courtesy of Gold.

Are you Team Rumple or Team Belle? Will you miss Jekyll and Hyde? Is Killian and Belle's new bromance enjoyable?

Cinderelly, Cinderelly... but seriously, how cute was Gus the mouse?

On Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 3 Ella/Ashley returned for another round of story, this time with a great Untold twist that seems to have hit a high note with viewers.

Join TV Fanatics Steve Ford, Allison Nichols, Caralynn Lippo, and Once Upon a Fan's Teresa Martin as they discuss what it means to be “normal” in Storybrooke and much more!

What did you think of Cinderella's return to Once Upon a Time? Were you pleased by the twist that her story took?

Teresa: I was so pleased Cinderella returned. To me, characters like her are the "untold stories" we need to see. The twist with her step-sister, lol, was an awful lot like Anastasia and Will in Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, and it was well done....in both series.

Steve: It was great to see her return to Ouat. »

A 10 Step Guide to Hate Watching a Show

20 July 2016 10:44 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

Using ABC’s Once Upon a Time as an example.

We all have that show that we cannot stand for whatever reason. The characters are annoying, the writing is cheesy, it’s a tacky “reality” show, all of your friends watch it so you just have to watch it too, whatever. But you still tune in every week to watch it, and every week you ask yourself, “Why am I watching this? I don’t even like this show.” The second you start asking yourself that, you have crossed into hate-watch territory. How did you get there? How did this something you once enjoyed become something you now hate? Here’s a step-by-step guide explaining the process using my hate-watch show, ABC’s Once Upon a Time.

1. The show has to have a premise or showrunner or actor that initially drew you into the story for whatever reason. In the beginning, Once »

'Once Upon a Time' Fans Have Strong Feelings About That Lgbt Storyline

18 April 2016 8:36 AM, PDT | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

"Once Upon a Time" fans are known for being passionate, but not known for agreeing on what they're passionate about. Many of those fans came out (no pun intended) last night after "Ruby Slippers" to weigh in on the big Lgbt reveal.

Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis had previously teased that Season 5 would feature the first Lgbt couple, and that naturally led to speculation that Mulan (Jamie Chung) would be involved, since she had been in love with Aurora. Mulan was in the episode, but the relationship turned out to be between Ruby/Red (Meghan Ory) and Dorothy Gale (Teri Reeves), and Ruby even saved Dorothy with true love's kiss.

'Once Upon a Time' Cast: Expect "Fun Surprises and Unexpected Encounters" in 100th Episode

When "Once Upon a Time"’s 100th episode airs on March 6, things will be very different, yet eerily similar. As co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis teased to The Hollywood Reporter earlier this season, the Underworld is a twisted version of Storybrooke, filled with dearly (and not-so-dearly) departed characters from the show’s five seasons. According to the fairytale drama’s core cast — Ginnifer Goodwin (Mary Margaret/Snow White), Jennifer Morrison (Emma Swan), Josh Dallas (David/Prince Charming), and Lana Parrilla (Regina/The Evil Queen) — there are going to be many ghosts from the past with “unfinished business” sending everyone

‘Once Upon a Time’ Renewed for Season 6 at ABC

3 March 2016 11:54 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

“Once Upon a Time” has been renewed for a sixth season at ABC. Co-creater Adam Horowitz tweeted the news Thursday afternoon, thanking the show’s fans.

ABC is expected to announce additional early renewals today for more of its returning shows.

“Once Upon a Time” has seen a steep ratings decline in its current fifth season, but the show is an important property for the Disney/ABC family and has a highly devoted fan-base, dubbed “Oncers” on social media.

Averaging around 5 million viewers in season five, the fantasy drama dipped to a series low of just under 4.4 million viewers for a recent episode. Season four averaged 9.2 million viewers; season three had 9.6 million; season two had nearly 11 million; and the debut season had nearly 12.5 million.

Despite the ratings decline, the intense social-media engagement surely did not go unnoticed with this early renewal, and the news of the season-six pickup will likely »
