MANDITORY UPGRADE I've had the CitiBank app for some time but today I was required to upgrade the app. In agreeing to the upgrade, they showed a list of all the things they gather from my phone, including my PHOTOS! This is outrageous!!! They require access to too many things they have no business looking at. CitiBank this is making me rethink using your credit card.

Citi is the hardest card to sign in and pay each month, I have quit using the card except as a last resort. They could learn a lot from capital one. It takes only seconds to look at and pay Capital card each month.

Worse It doesn't take check deposit, always always giving me hard time... never check deposit... before It was an amazing app, now it log you out and than doesn't deposit checks

Doesn't seem to let me choose payment amount I wanted to pay a portion of my balance since I am in the promotional period and while I was adjusting the amount of my payment it took me back to the beginning of the payment process and then would not scroll down to let me adjust the amount of my payment.

Bank app It's a big upgrade from the last look and feel, but on an Android, at least my Android phone, scrolling to pay a bill is maddening. I can't stop the Russian roulette wheel, and there is enough of a delay where I find myself swiping double right by my payee. It didn't used to do this, not sure what changed but it needs to change again and soon. Otherwise it's OK.

NEED IMPROVEMENTS The overall app's GUI is simple, clean and easy to use. But, the performance is not up to par compared to other banking apps. It's sluggish and slow. I would like to see more features and functions added to this app. Such as, notifications, credit score tracking, bill payment tracking, budgeting, spending reports and increase mobile check deposit limits. As for ease of access, I would like to see some sort of fingerprint/pin/pattern entry. It's a bit annoying having to re-enter your password multiple times.
I installed the Citi Mobile app exclusively for the mobile check deposit feature. This feature almost never works. Front and back images of the check are required, and despite the pictures being crystal clear, the app rejects them about 90% of the time. This means attempting 30ish pictures for each side to get one the app will accept, if I'm lucky. This means a total of 60 or so attempts taking about half an hour, during which time I could have just walked to the bank. Only twice have I actually succeed in getting the app to accept pictures of both sides, and one of those two times at the point of submitting the deposit it said it "didn't receive" one of the pictures and requested I start over and retake it. TL;DR: I've now taken hundreds of pictures of my checks, and have one successful deposit to show for it. If you want the app for mobile deposit functionality, don't bother.
Works Great! Has proven consistently reliable, recent updates improved the camera feature for mobile deposit. Minus 1 star because the "monthly deposit limit" is a Rolling feature, ie it constantly updates for the past 30 days, which is ridiculous. The $1000.00 daily limit is understandable, but the monthly limit is way too low. Citi Rep said, "improving soon" last year, hasn't happened yet.
Auto image capture blows up on Android Why do you have to change something that was working fine? New update causes the app to shut down and log out. Zero capacity to deposit checks has rendered this app completely useless. Tech team has no idea when the bug fix for this will be done. Pretty lame Citi....
Still not as good as Chase Like everything else Citibank does this app is really poor to mediocre. It is very slow & for some reason it only allows you to make deposits to checking accounts, not savings accounts. As Citi customers we're stuck with it but Chase seems to be getting more of my business every day.
Extremely slow The interface is very slow at loading content and information. It seems like every action causes the app to load something and takes a few seconds for every action, even scrolling. Features don't mean much when performance makes the app nearly unusable. Sometimes while scrolling, a transaction will expand without an explicit tap. Also able to drag open the side menu while scrolling simultaneously is not ideal.
New update broke the app The 7.4 updated pushed recently doesn't allow me to even scroll properly. The app is now incredibly laggy to the point that I gave up going through my transactions on my phone and had to walk a whole other room to my laptop. While I appreciate the extra work out, I highly recommend Citi to fix this. The previous version worked much much better.
Too easy to make the wrong payment The new payment UI (although beautiful) is critically difficult to use. the page shifts "back" to account summary too easily. I had to pick my payment amount 3 or more times, because the page kept shifting out of being active. Then, after a couple of times unintentionally going back, the page shifted and an amount was selected different from what I wanted to pay. Just need to remove the "swipe to go back" or make it less sensitive and the issue will be gone. The rest of the app is very nice.
Another Citibank crapfest The app still doesn't recognize the orientation on my Nexus 5x and takes mobile deposit photos upside down. It's frustrating positioning the camera when you have to move up to go down. Citibank blames Google and Google blames Citibank. I blame Citibank. After twelve years I've learned everything this company does is pretty much the opposite of what's good for their customers.
