Pablo Schreiber loves his character on Netflix's “Orange Is the New Black,” but he told Jimmy Kimmel that he also loves that he can completely leave him behind when he's off the set. To take on the role of “Pornstache,” the mustache is glued onto his face each day for shooting, which means he gets to leave without it when he's done. Pablo Schreiber Talks Orange Is The New Black Season 2, How Things Play Out for Pornstache, The Brink, The Moon And The Sun, and More

12 June 2014 4:49 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

From Weeds creator Jenji Kohan, Orange is the New Black tells the heartbreaking and hilarious stories of the women at Litchfield Prison.  In Season 1, Piper Chapman’s (Taylor Schilling) wild past came back to haunt her, resulting in her arrest and detention in a federal penitentiary where she finds unexpected conflict and camaraderie amidst an eccentric group of inmates.  In Season 2 of the popular Netflix original series (Season 1 is also currently available on Blu-ray/DVD), shocking revelations and new arrivals shake up the lives and relationships of the prisoners, in ways they never could have imagined. During this recent exclusive phone interview with Collider, actor Pablo Schreiber (who plays Pornstache) talked about going into this show with zero expectations, how the reaction to the show was immediate, his rather unusual fan requests, how the success of the series changed the vibe on set for Season 2, and how satisfied he was »

Baddies Serve Up Juiciest Roles for Guest Actors

11 June 2014 10:00 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Oh, it’s good to play bad.

Actors of all levels know this already, but guest actors get to relish their roles a little more than your average player, especially when they can dig into a villainous part with gusto.

Playing a guest character may not have the stability of long-term employment, but the roles can be fit to any size — from an Emmy winner like Alan Alda (“The Blacklist”) to an up-and-comer like Pablo Schreiber (“Law & Order: Svu” and “Orange Is the New Black”) and veteran character actors like Michael Rapaport (“Justified”). But a good visiting villain provides something else — a chance for actors to sink their teeth into a role they’ve often had a big hand in developing.

“I tried to be as imaginative as I possibly could,” says Rapaport, whose drug trafficker Daryl Crowe Jr. expired at the end of “Justified’s” season. “I did a »

Pablo Schreiber purged his 'darker side' in 'Orange is the New Black' and 'Law

8 June 2014 5:02 AM, PDT | Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news »

"You know, I think it's really interesting that these two characters kind of came into my life around the same time," said Pablo Schreiber during our recent webcam chat (watch below) about his villainous turns in "Orange is the New Black" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." "I think that these two roles came at a very specific time in my life when I think it was essential for me … to expose and hopefully expunge a little bit of my darker side." -Break- Taryn Manning likens 'Oitnb's' Pennsatucky to rock star run amok (Exclusive Video) He expressed that darker side in two very different ways: in a comic role as a corrupt prison guard known as "Pornstache" in "Orange," and in a dramatic role as depraved serial rapist William Lewis on "Svu," both of which are being entered for Emmy consideration for guest acting. On Friday, we'll talk with Pablo Schreiber about his pair of nefarious TV roles: George "Pornstache" Mendez on the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black," and recurring villain William Lewis on "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." Join us for our live chat on June 6, at 10:00am Pt/1:00pm Et on Gold Derby's home page. -Break- Taryn Manning likens 'Oitnb's' Pennsatucky to rock star run amok (Exclusive Video) Pornstache, so called because of his signature facial hair, is a corrections officer at Litchfield Prison, but he's at least as corrupt as the women he's guarding. During season one he smuggled drugs and covered up a deadly overdose. And William Lewis on "Law & Order: Svu" is arguably even more sinister. Watch: ‘Orange is the New Black’ Gets ‘Arrested Development’-Style Opening Credits

4 June 2014 2:04 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

In its campaign to promote “Orange is the New Black’s” season two (and remind Emmy voters about the positively-reviewed season one), Netflix has combined it with another one of their popular originals — “Arrested Development.”

Netflix, which streams the first three seasons of “Arrested Development” and picked up a fourth season as an original, gave the opening credits of “Orange is the New Black” the “Arrested Development” treatment. It even went so far as to get Ron Howard, an executive producer on “Arrested Development” and its narrator, to do the voiceover.

“And now the story of a wealthy girl who lost everything, and the one family who had no choice but to help her keep it together,” the voiceover reads.

‘Modern Family’ Star Jesse Tyler Ferguson Recalls His Worst Audition Ever

4 June 2014 12:12 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Though he regularly garners laughs as Mitchell Pritchett on ABC’s “Modern Family,” Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s road to success was paved with a few awkward auditions.

The actor dished on one of his most memorable horror stories at last week’s Variety Studio, where he was joined by fellow TV funnymen Max Greenfield of “New Girl,” “Trophy Wife’s” Bradley WhitfordSimon Helberg of “The Big Bang Theory,” “House of Lies” star Ben Schwartz and Pablo Schreiber of “Orange is the New Black.”

Ferguson said he ran into some trouble while auditioning for an iteration of “Band of Brothers.”

“I’m just not comfortable saying dirty words about lady vagina parts,” Ferguson explained, adding, “I think I actually stopped myself and said ‘I’m going to leave now’ and they didn’t stop me.”

Whitford followed suit and gave his own example of an ill-fated audition for helmer Oliver Stone. »

Orange Is The New Black: The Complete First Season Blu-Ray Review

12 May 2014 10:07 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

My favorite dramas are those which manage to immerse me in a world strikingly different from but still (in a vicarious but nevertheless potent manner) comparable to my own. Breaking Bad, which started out by exploring the seedy criminal underbelly of modern-day New Mexico, featured dozens of colorful characters (perennial badass Mike Ehrmantraut, refined sociopath Gus Fring) and a highly ambitious central plot (a mild-mannered chemistry teacher comes to rule the meth business with an iron fist) but was never less than addictively believable. To give a more far-out example, Game of Thrones is set in the high-fantasy world of Westeros, but its inhabitants are shockingly relatable as flesh-and-blood human beings, and viewers are quickly able to look past the show’s more fantastical elements to find the compelling, realistic human drama beneath. I’m pleased to say that, for many of the same reasons, I can add Netflix’s hilarious, »
