Marvel movies are protected by Kevin Feige, who has managed to find the right of letting the creative talents on each project shine, while also serving the necessary requirements of the brand. Things at Marvel’s TV division are quite different. Quality has varied wildly across their shows on ABC, Netflix, and FX and they still follow the playbook of many other programs on the small screen.

Marvel’s Inhumans Shot On “Tight” Schedule; Director Recalls Challenges Of Working With IMAX Cameras

17 August 2017 9:46 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Love them or loathe them, Marvel’s Royal Family are bound for television in the form of Inhumans, an eight-part series set to stage its world premiere via IMAX on September 1st.

From there, and following a two-week spell in theaters, Black Bolt and the gang will uproot for ABC, where Scott Buck (Iron Fist) and Roel Reiné’s lavish drama will occupy a Friday night slot. Indeed, it was the latter director who helmed the show’s opening two episodes, and with the Inhumans IMAX premiere right around the corner, Reiné spoke to CNET (via Cbm) about everything from the super-tight production schedule – Marvel’s freshman series primarily shot in Hawaii, while vast interior sets were used to replicate the city of Attilan – to what it was like operating under Marvel producers.

First up, it seems that the show’s cinematic aspirations left Inhumans struggling to meet deadlines:

Sneak Peek more new footage showcasing the long-haired female mutant 'Medusa' (Serinda Swan) from Marvel's "Inhumans" TV series screening in IMAX theaters, before extended versions air on ABC TV:

'Medusa' debuted in Marvel Comics' "Fantastic Four" #36 (1965) created by writer Stan Lee and co-plotter/illustrator Jack Kirby, as a decendant of a race of 'Inhuman' prehistoric earthlings mutated by mists produced under the city-state of 'Attilan'.

Medusa's hair has greater tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and shear resistance than an iron wire of the same thickness...

Panel Discussion #43

10 August 2017 6:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Hello again, and welcome to the recently resurrected Panel Discussion. I’m Kieran, and every week I’m going to go through some of the best comics of the week to give you an idea what you should pick up that you might have missed. This is another stacked week with some fantastic first issues and great jumping on points for books you might be behind on, so let’s take a look at what’s on offer.

You probably already know this because it’s one of the big buzz books of the year, but the best comic this week by a long stretch is Tom King and Mitch Gerads’ Mister Miracle #1 which is a thought-provoking and unsettlingly down-to-Earth take on one of Jack Kirby’s greatest creations. This issue will certainly leave you with more questions than answers, but it’s important to know that you don’t »

Inumans: Iwan Rheon Talks How Maximus And Game Of Thrones' Ramsay Are Different.

9 August 2017 12:17 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

I first remember Iwan Rheon when he portrayed the meek and very socially reserved character of Simon Bellamy on the British show, Misfits. His turn as the psychotic Ramsay Bolton on HBO’s Game of Thrones was a complete 180 from his Misfits character, and is a testament to Rheon’s acting range.  Rheon is now set to be a part of Marvel’s Inhumans, playing Maximus, a powerless character intent on overthrowing his Inhuman brother, Black Bolt. Rheon recently sat down with Moviefone and talked about what it’s like to join the Marvel Universe and how Maximus is different from Ramsay Bolton:

"I think every young boy wants to be in the superhero show, so it's lovely to join it. Even though I don't actually have a superpower in the show, it's cool just to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- they make such amazing stuff and »

Hellboy cinematic universe, Karl Urban returning as Judge Dredd, Superman in new Justice League promo – Daily News Roundup

A Hellish Universe

This should come as no surprise, but there are hopes that Neil Marshall’s big screen reboot of Hellboy could spawn a cinematic universe. “It’s a very loose adaptation of one of the Hellboy graphic novels,” he told The Verge. “When you have more books out there, you have a lot more to sift through. You can look around at how big the world is, and borrow pieces from here and there. You want to sell a larger world, but you have to pick and choose what goes in there. The challenge for us has been to not lose sight of the specific story, but suggest the elements of a larger story. My hope is that this introduces a lot of stuff that then expands into a Hellboy Cinematic Universe.” Read more here.

Director for Inhumans Not Surprised About Negative Reaction To Their First Trailer

8 August 2017 5:00 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

With Marvel's Inhumans less than a month away from their IMAX release, there are definitely a lot of mixed reviews about what we have seen so far in two trailers. The first trailer was released back in June and the second one premiered at Comic-Con last month. Leading the cast of the Royal Family are Black Bolt played by Anson Mount, Maximus played by Iwan Rheon and Medusa played by Serinda Swan. Audiences on YouTube were not too kind to the first trailer as it racked up over 38,000 dislikes.

Director of for ABC's Inhumans Roel Reine talked to Metro.co.uk about the negative reactions to the first trailer. Surprisingly, he wasn't too excited about the trailer either. He says:

"I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects. »

Inhumans Director Didn’t Like First Trailer Either; Producer Says Show Is Still “Work In Progress”

7 August 2017 8:05 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Unfortunately for Marvel, the early buzz on their latest show, Inhumans, has been far below their usual high standard. Ever since the first images and trailer for the series debuted online, fans have ripped into it for poor effects, set design, costuming and more. Apparently, it’s not just the viewers who feel this way, either, as a couple of people behind the scenes have also admitted that the show is still working out its kinks.

Firstly, Roel Reine – who directed the first two episodes of the season – spoke to Metro and revealed that he was just as dissatisfied with the initial trailer as the fans were.

“I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects. I felt it was a little bit too early because the visual »

Attilan Royalty Takes Center Stage In The Latest Character Posters For Marvel’s Inhumans

7 August 2017 7:27 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Marvel and ABC’s eight-part Inhumans series is now teetering on the verge of its IMAX premiere – September 1st is the date for your diaries – though it’s fair to say that excitement for Marvel’s Royal Family has been tempered by lukewarm reviews and other criticisms.

However that may be, the Powers That Be are still pulling out all the stops to ensure Inhumans enjoys the biggest premiere possible, with today heralding the arrival of seven – count ’em, seven – character posters that gather together all of the core members of Attilan. Conspicuous by his absence? Iwan Rheon’s Maximus. The former Game of Thrones actor recently conceded that he was somewhat hesitant about signing on to play the younger, unruly sibling to Anson Mount’s Black Bolt, and if SpoilerTV’s damning review of the pilot is anything to go by, Rheon’s initial fears may well turn out to be true. »

Meanwhile, in an interview with Metro, director Roel Reine has revealed like – that virtually everyone else on the planet – he wasn’t a fan of the first trailer for the new series:

“I was mixed about the first trailer as well. I felt like it didn’t give you the scope, it didn’t give you a lot of secrets or visual effects. I felt it was a little bit too early because the visual effects were not ready – Medusa’s hair was not ready. So I was really nervous about it and would think the fans would not really like it. »
