I have two reason to like my 20/2.8
1: It is better IQ then the 16-50 kit lens at 20 mm, center about the same but towards the corners it's certainly better (obviously copy-to-copy variation can make a difference, but I even think my 16-50 is not bad at all).
2: Primes make me "work" my compositions and viewpoint better. Zooms make me lazy, rather then stepping closer I just zoom in and don't get the best view possible.
Depends on where, when, and what you shoot. Often there is not time or ability to get closer so you just miss the shot. If you are lazy, it has to do with you, not your lens
Thanks for your enlightening insights, but to me they're both blatantly obvious and no reason not to like my E20/2.8
I was not trying to get you to dislike your lens. Enjoy it!
But understand that zooms do not make people "lazy", as you have stated they make you, above. If you get lazy, that's your fault. Zooms can permit you to get a shot that would be impossible with a prime.
I was not trying to say you were wrong, I only said that you were stating the blatantly obvious.
...so you decided to be blatantly snarky and sarcastic. I get it.
