Watch 2 Chainz Break Down Super PACs on 'Larry Wilmore'

Rapper calls unlimited political slush funds the "trap queens" of presidential candidates

By
Rapper 2 Chainz returned to 'The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore' to explain the murky inner workings of Super PACs.

Noted MC and political analyst 2 Chainz returned to The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore for another installment of "2 Chainz Explainz," in which he tackled the inner workings of Super PACs.

Allowed to emerge from the murky cesspool that is American campaign finance law after the Supreme Court's 2010 Citizens United decision, Super PACs are independent political committees that can raise and spend as much money as they want on behalf of a certain candidate.

"Super PACs have one goal," as 2 Chainz put it. "Well, really three goals: Get that money, get that money and get that money."

While there are some restrictions as to what a Super PAC can and can't do — such as coordinate directly with campaigns — they are mostly free to operate as they want and often flood the airwaves with attack ads. For instance, as Wilmore noted earlier, Super PACs spent over $2 million attacking Donald Trump ahead of Tuesday's Wisconsin primary so Ted Cruz didn't have to.

"Super PACs are like trap queens for the presidential candidates," cracked 2 Chainz. "They hold you down, they count your money and they attack all your enemies. Anybody try to say something bad about you — that's my type of girl right there."
