Superman lives.

During Warner Bros.' presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas today, Justice League director Zack Snyder and the entire cast of the forthcoming superhero mashup (save Ben Affleck) greeted the audience from the film's set. Included in that lineup of stars was Henry Cavill -- thereby confirming that Superman, who seemingly bit the dust at the end of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, will be appearing in the new film.

Here's the tweet from EW's Darren Franich:

How the 'Deadpool Effect' could have been the 'Lobo Effect'

Back in March it was reported that Wonder Woman scribe Jason Fuchs had signed on to write an entirely new take on the Lobo live-action movie for DC/Warner Bros., a development that struck some as convenient timing given that Deadpool -- a Marvel character whom Lobo is often compared to -- had just become a bona fide box-office sensation.

However you spin it, the fact remains that Lobo has been in development for a number of years now, and hey, here's something interesting: Deadpool director Tim Miller himself was in contention to direct the film in one of its earlier incarnations.

During an appearance last month on The Howard Stern Show, Sacha Baron Cohen detailed the reasons behind his departure from the Freddie Mercury biopic, citing the intransigence of some surviving Queen band members who he claimed wanted to "sugarcoat" the film and make it more about their resilience following Mercury's death in 1991 rather than the legendary singer himself.

"I said, 'listen'...not one person is gonna see a movie where the lead character dies from AIDS and then you carry on to see the band carry on,'" related Cohen, who later said of guitarist Brian May specifically: "[He's] an amazing musician...[but] not a great movie producer."

Now May is hitting back at the comedian in a new interview with the Daily Mail, claiming Cohen "became an arse" during development of the biopic before taking a few digs at his career in the process.
