You would have thought Sleepy Hollow (0.7/3) was The Walking Dead the way major characters were being killed off this season and last night’s Season 3 finale was the showstopper. No word if the fantasy procedural is coming back for a fourth season but it certainly went out with some traction on Friday.
Unsurprisingly down 50% from its Season 2 finale, which was on Monday February 23, 2015 and followed a strong Gotham, last night’s SH saw a rise of 17% among adults 18-49 from its airing on the slightly less competitive April 1.
Having started its latest season with a 1.0/3 on October 1 last year, a Thursday, SH has pretty much been in the range of last night’s finale since its move to Fridays on February 5. There is, of course, always a possibility that we could see an adjustment down a tenth, like what happened to SH last week but as of now the series is up. The same is not true of lead-out Hell’s Kitchen (0.8/3), which is even with last week’s show.

Unlike last week, CBS had to share the demo top spot last night with ABC as both snagged a 1.1/4 ratings. In overall viewership, CBS was Number #1 with 8.06 million, fuelled in part by the 10.12 million that Blue Bloods (1.2/5) collared as the most watched show of Friday’s primetime.
For the House of Moonves, individual show results this Friday for the Tom Selleck led 10 PM cop drama, along with The Amazing Race (1.1/5) and Hawaii Five-O (1.1/4), were even with last week. Blue Bloods was tied with Shark Tank (1.2/5) for the top show of the night among the 18-49s.
With its first full night of originals in 3-weeks, the Disney-owned channel saw Last Man Standing (1.0/4) and Dr. Ken (0.9/4) down 17% and 10% respectively. Shark Tank also declined, with an 8% dip from its March 23 show when it faced the NCAA Tournament on CBS. News mag 20/20 (1.1/4) was up a tenth from last week while time slot rival Dateline (0.9/4) was even with its April 1 show.
NBC’s overall Friday ratings may be a little shaky as the net plays MLB games in the San Francisco and Sacramento markets. However, as the net’s only original of the night besides Dateline, 9 PM’s Grimm (1.0/4) had a good night with an 11% rise in the demo and a viewership season high of 4.494 million.
The CW’s The Vampire Diaries (0.4/2) and The Originals (0.4/1) were even with their April 1 airings.
Honestly I think this is just lazy writing, yet again. All these shows are trying to be Game of Thrones, and slaughtering major characters, who just so happens to be women of color or gay, in order to achieve some lazy “shock value” or to give their white male characters some kind of emotional development. And I know Nicole wanted to leave the show, but there are many ways to write a character off of a show, and if the network hadn’t been sidelining her and Abbie for bland poorly written white supporting ladies this would never have been an issue. It’s sheer racism, and it’s inexcusable

wow really? 2 in two weeks? wth is wrong with you people, leave things the way they were, like on Monday Night… for goodness sake when a good show get son y’all want to take it off and put on something stupid like a freakin nother reality show… geez, wake up leave it on the night it was doing good and for goodness sake get some new writers and bring Abbie back… oh byw LOVE, LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW..
