Exciting news: rising star Donald Glover has signed on to join Marvel’s next installment of the Spiderman franchise.  He joins the already-exciting ensemble cast of Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi and Zendaya.

The actor, rapper and comedian is known for his hilarious TV character Troy on "Community" and was last seen in Ridley Scott’s The Martian, where he shared screen time with Jeff Daniels and Kristen Wiig, playing a Nasa employee who successfully formulates a plan to save a stranded Matt Damon on Mars.

Who knows what character Glover will play in Spiderman: Homecoming, as details of the movie are still under wraps. Hopefully Glover will have some sort of super power? I’m picturing him in a cape, speaking in lyrics as he makes his enemies laugh till they drop dead. Or maybe he'll just be Spiderman's best friend.   Either way, can't wait to find out!

Emmys: Who Leads (and Who Lags) in the Drama Actor Race

8 June 2016 12:00 PM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

The absence of two perennial Emmy nominees (and eventual winners) in the lead actor in a drama series category — Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom) and Jon Hamm (Mad Men) — raises the question: What was it about these roles that Television Academy members loved? Will McAvoy and Don Draper were brilliant, damaged characters who delivered witty one-liners and killer monologues on a regular basis. The same can be said for the haunted hacker played on Mr. Robot by Rami Malek, who's eligible in this category for the first time. That's part of why he stands a better shot at

Slowly but surely, casting is really beginning to heat up on Godless, the all-new Western in the works as a Netflix limited series.

Headed up by Steven Soderbergh and Scott Frank – the pair last collaborated on Out of Sight – we brought you the news two weeks ago that up-and-comer Jack O’Connell had closed a deal to star, and now Deadline is reporting that Jeff Daniels and Scoot McNairy of Batman V Superman have their eyes set on the Wild West.
