An action film with an identity of its own – it’s very much worth watching the trailer for Hardcore Henry…
Blimey. If you’re fed up of conventional action movies, or films that try and follow a pretty similar template, then Hardcore Henry very much has you in mind.
The movie, which arrives in the UK on April 8th, is about a man brought back to life by his wife. From that point forwards, his life becomes something of a first person shooter, and… well, take a look at the first trailer for the movie…

While we get a handful of videogame adaptations this year, including Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed, we imagine few will actually replicate the experience like Ilya Naishuller‘s Hardcore. Produced by Timur Bekmambetov and starring Sharlto Copley, Danila Kozlovsky, Haley Bennet, Andrey Dementiev, Dasha Charusha, and Sveta Ustinova, it follows a cybernetic super-soldier who kicks, punches and parkours his way across Russia to save his wife from a psychotic paramilitary psychic bent on world domination. Stx Entertainment has debuted the full trailer for its first-person action thriller "Hardcore Henry". Shot completely from the hero's perspective and set around Moscow, the story follows a man brought back from the dead by his scientist wife (Haley Bennett) who, five minutes later, gets kidnapped.
Henry sets out to take on her captor - a powerful warlord (Danila Kozlovsky) with an army of mercenaries and a plan for world domination. The film is slated to hit cinemas on April 8th.

We've already seen one insane trailer for Ilya Naishuller's insane looking first person action thriller Hardcore Henry (previously simply Hardcore) and the newly minted trailer suggests even more insanity to come (not to mention the excellent use of a Queen classic).
The movie centers on Henry, a man who is raised from the dead with no memory and turned into a bionic man. The living weapon is thrown into the middle of some heavy action, alongside Sharlto Copley, in order to rescue his wife from a crazy looking man who has also kidnapped his wife who appears to be a genius doctor.

Plenty of video games are now shot like movies, so why shouldn't movies be shot like video games? In the new trailer for the action thriller "Hardcore Henry," it doesn't take long to realize we are seeing the world as Henry, experiencing the action from a first-person Pov as he wakes up in some kind of futuristic science facility and is swept up in a mysterious adventure.

By far, the most aggressive film I saw at last year's Toronto film festival was a first-person action film that felt unlike anything else screening at the entire event. Since then, it's been retitled and now you can get your first look at the official trailer for Hardcore Henry tonight, and it's every bit as lunatic as the film itself. I spoke to writer/director Ilya Naishuller this week about how things have unfolded for him and his movie since Stx Entertainment picked it up for release. "I've been working on it every day for the last few months," he told me, and the result is a film that has been almost totally visually re-invented since its festival premiere. He's working with a great Di post-production team, and the version of the movie that will be playing at the SXSW festival in March is way more vivid than what I saw. »

On the eve of the Efm, the industry veteran has joined the company as evp of international marketing.
Stx Entertainment president of international sales John Friedberg announced the hire on Wednesday.
Friedenson most recently served as head of international marketing at StudioCanal and previously served as svp of international marketing at Paramount Pictures/ Paramount Vantage.
The executive will immediately begin working on Stx’s upcoming features including the untitled female comedy directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore and starring Mila Kunis; interplanetary adventure The Space Between Us with Gary Oldman; and Toronto hit Hardcore Henry, produced by Timur Bekmambetov.
She began her international film marketing career at Lionsgate working on campaigns for Monster’s Ball, Amores Perros, 3:10 to Yuma and the Saw films.
Her career credits of more than 250 films include Shutter Island, Paddington and No Country For Old Men. »
