New Black Panther Story Details Revealed in Latest Casting Call

8 November 2016 11:17 AM, PST | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

The cast of Marvel's Black Panther continues to grow, as we get closer to the early 2017 production start date. Letitia Wright signed on last month as Serita. Today, we have a new casting call which finds Marvel seeking actors to play a number of different types of Wakanda characters, including actors of Korean and Filipino descent. There is also another type of character the studio is seeking, which may hint that T'challa is coming back to America.

Georgia Casting Calls posted a cast listing last week, with the final listing for "CIA Agent Types with Weapons experience." The studio is looking for clean cut men and women of all ethnicities between the ages of 30 and 50 who have real weapons experience, who will be needed at the end of January. This could hint that either T'challa will be returning to America, or that the CIA may raid his homeland of Wakanda, »

Regina Hall Enters Fifty Shades of Grey's Red Room of Pain on Lip Sync Battle

4 November 2016 8:13 AM, PDT | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

Regina Hall and Lupita Nyong'o are the latest celebrities to go head to head on Lip Sync Battle, and they aren't afraid to take things to a whole new level (like, red room of pain level). During their heated episode, which aired on Spike on Nov. 2, Regina channels The Weeknd as she sings along to "Earned It," his hit song from Fifty Shades of Grey. In addition to entering the stage on a sex swing, Regina rocks The Weeknd's signature hairdo while working the stage with leather-clad dancers. Lupita then shows off her best moves during Salt-n-Pepa's "Whatta Man." The actress seamlessly raps along to the song while caressing nearly naked firefighters. Long story short: it's amazing. Lupita Nyong'o came to slay!

The 32-year-old Oscar winner showed off her sexy side during Wednesday's episode of Lip-Sync Battle, and it's safe to say that Nyong'o stole the show with a cover Salt-n-Pepa's 1994 single, "Whatta Man."

While Nyongo's competitor Regina Hall literally transformed into The Weeknd (before he chopped off his dreadlocks) for a performance of  "Earned It," it was Queen Lupita who left the crowd in awe.

After hitting the stage in a fire engine, Nyong'o dropped her jacket to reveal a white crop top and jean shorts. The blazing performance featured a sexy lap dance number, and ended with Nyong'o and her backup dancers getting sprayed with a fire hose.

Queen Of Katwe review

25 October 2016 8:51 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong'o and Madina Nalwanga lead the cast of a real gem of a movie. Here's our review of Queen Of Katwe...

For a film that's competing with lots of big new releases in UK cinemas this week, there has been rather too much emphasis on how radical Queen Of Katwe is for a Disney film. Adapted from Tim Crothers' 2012 article The Queen Of Katwe: A Story Of Life, Chess and One Extraordinary Girl's Dream Of Becoming A Grandmaster, Mira Nair's winsome sports underdog movie just happens to be set entirely in Uganda.

In the titular Kampala slum, selfless youth ministry coach Robert Katende (David Oyelowo) introduces chess to the local kids by offering free food at his classes. One pupil in particular, Phiona Mutesi (Madina Nalwanga), proves to be a natural and Robert encourages her to pursue her passion to an international level over a number of years, »

Start Date And Location For Black Panther Filming Revealed

25 October 2016 7:21 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

Earlier today, I wrote about one of the new Avengers we're going to be meeting soon: Doctor Strange. Now I've got an update on another hero that's going to be a part of that team soon, and that's Black Panther. We got to meet Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa, aka Black Panther, in Captain America: Civil War earlier this year, and since then there's been plenty of updates about how his solo flick is shaping up. Director Ryan Coogler (Creed) has spent this time assembling an impressive cast, and helping get the script where he wants it to be. So when will Black Panther enter production? And what location will serve as the stand-in for the fictional nation of Wakanda?

Now, thanks to a casting notice, we have answers to both of those questions.

Tammy Smith Casting has put up a notice, seeking African-American actors to be extras in Black Panther, »

Movie News: 'Logan' Sinks Claws Into Possible 'R' Rating; Forest Whitaker Joins 'Black Panther'

Logan: Three new promotional photos for Logan have been released online and at least one lends credence to the idea that the movie is aiming for an R-rating. All three black and white photos look quite foreboding; one shows the aftermath of a fight, another shows a sign in Spanish that suggests Wolverine may spend time in Mexico and another suggests a motel as a key location. The final Wolverine solo movie starring Hugh Jackman will open in theaters on March 3, 2017. [Instagram via THR]   Black Panther: Forest Whitaker has joined the cast of Black Panther. T’Challa's confidant and rival have been cast for 'Black Panther'

8 October 2016 2:41 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker is the latest to crossover from Star Wars to Marvel. He's joined the cast of Ryan Coogler's Black Panther as have Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, and Florence Kasumba officially. There's been crossover before (notably Samuel L. Jackson) but now that Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm are all working together we're seeing some actors pop up in multiple franchises. Lupita Nyong'o played Maz Kanata in The Force Awakens then went on to star in Disney's The Jungle Book (and the newly released Queen of Katwe) and landed a role in Marvel's Black Panther. Black Widow Scarlett Johansson also voiced a character in The Jungle Book. It's not quite the bygone studio era but the trend does make me think Thor: Ragnarok's Tessa Thompson has a good chance take the female lead in the Han Solo film. Whitaker will be seen December 16th as Rogue One's Saw Gerrera, »
