Ilana Glazer, Paul W. Downs and Lucia Aniello blazed through a Q&A on Saturday following the premiere of their subversive time-travel limited series “Time Traveling Bong.” The conversation was held at the SVA Theater in Manhattan as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.
In the three-part series, directed by Aniello, Glazer and Downs play cousins who whirl through history after discovering the titular time traveling bong. “Bong” premieres on April 20 (of course) and will air over three consecutive nights.
Glazer, co-star and exec producer of Comedy Central’s “Broad City,” joked that the team is inspired by a certain recent FX hit. “Have you guys been watching O.J.?” Glazer asked, referring to “The People v. O.J. Simpson.” “We think of this as Comedy Central’s O.J.”
The discussion revealed that Comedy Central shot down a storyline involving a young Bill and Hillary Clinton. »
