Keep in mind that the original prices on the 12-40, and particularly the 12-35, were notably higher than their current prices. The 12-60 will also likely fall some over time. If it eventually ...

I expect that it has the full remote-flash capabilities that other recent higher-end Panasonics have had, starting with roughly the G6 or GH3 eras. But I haven't seen it in the specs.
-
What makes you believe that it can't trigger remote flashes? I'd be surprised if that wasn't included.
-
I was just going to post about this as well. As a long-time Panasonic user, the OMDs have intrigued me for the ability to set a minimum shutter speed (believe via a somewhat obscure flash ...

I subsequently discovered this post from Helen, who confirmed that the first curtain does run on the E-M10 Mk II. http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3910041

Guy, I could be mistaken, but I believe that the E-M10 Mk2 also avoids the 1/40 second delay and the running of the mechanical first curtain. Doug

Photozone also finds the relatively inexpensive Panasonic 45-150 a fair bit better than the Oly 40-150 f4-5.6.

And it would be easily fixed by EFCS, which Panasonic consistently fails to provide on its cameras. And that's why my G5 is going to be replaced by an Olympus, despite me being otherwise fond of ...

That's good news. Thanks for the info!

Agreed re: the EFCS. No idea why Panny fails to implement it. If the G7 had it, I'd buy it as an upgrade from my G5. But as it is, I'm more inclined to the E-M10 II. I'll give up the DFD and ...

I wouldn't even get the E-M5 over the original E-M10. And the E-M10 can also be had for roughly $150 less than the new E-M10 II. Both E-M10s provide a shutter shock solution, with EFCS, unlike ...
-
You're right; that's a reasonable suggestion. But I find the E-M10 more appealing from a value standpoint vs. the E-M5 II, particularly when it was $449 body only for several weeks recently. At ...

DPReview nailed two of my biggest complains about my G5: apparent shutter shock with my 45 1.8, and an auto ISO implementation that doesn't allow setting of a minimum shutter speed. Regarding the ...

Great summary and analysis.

I mentioned both the viewfinder and DFD. I agree; those are great features, and I'd love to have them. But given that I take many pictures in low light, the minimum shutter speed in A mode and a ...

The electronic shutter isn't very useful, unless you: 1) don't use flash 2) don't take interior shots with lighting that would cause banding 3) don't take shots with notable movement if the subject. ...
-
If it's like the G6, the flash can't be used at all. This is because the readout of the frame under the electronic shutter is far slower than the flash duration.
-
Video, a bigger, higher resolution viewfinder, and DFD are arguably the major things the G7 offers over the E-M10. Those are notable benefits. However, the E-M10 offers some valuable stills ...
-
Unfortunately, the G7 apparently still doesn't provide the a good, all-time shutter shock solution. As a G5 user, I find that disappointing. It shouldn't be difficult for them to offer EFCS. Othe ...
