Watch Colbert Say Goodbye to 'Half-Kissed Frog Prince Ted Cruz'

Stephen Colbert doffed his powdered blue wig and eyebrows for an in memoriam edition of The Late Show's "Hungry for Power Games," bidding Ted Cruz and John Kasich the cattiest of farewells following Donald Trump's big win in Indiana Tuesday.

Colbert opened by remembering Kasich's campaign highlights, such as his win in Ohio — and nothing else. "Sadly, even in losing, tribute Kasich has lost," Colbert added, "because last night's big loser was Texas senator, and half-kissed frog prince, Ted Cruz."

Still, Colbert praised Cruz for "going down swinging »

We practice song, but we don't care about song," says Peelander Yellow (a.k.a Kengo Hioki), in the opening moments of Mad Tiger, a new documentary about Japanese punk rockers Peelander-z. "[Our] music is kind of 10 percent — and 90 percent is kind of theater style."

Since 1998, these NYC-based ex-pats have been utilizing a mondo bizarro formula to the delight of their rabid fans, delivering an insanely entertaining live show that's like a low-budget cross between Gwar and the Power Rangers. Pro wrestling, "human bowling," animal costumes, color-coded stage outfits, and breakneck »

Questlove Recalls How Jimmy Fallon Won Over the Roots

3 May 2016 10:29 AM, PDT

On The Tonight Show Monday, Questlove recalled how Jimmy Fallon convinced the Roots to be his house band.

Comedy writer and Chappelle's Show co-creator Neal Brennan initially suggested the Roots to Fallon, but the comedian was skeptical. Even Questlove admitted that at that point in their careers, the Roots had achieved self-sufficiency and were wary about going in a new direction.

The group entertained Fallon at a Roots gig at UCLA. "I was backstage doing an interview and then when I walked out my dressing room, you [Fallon] had somehow managed »

Larry Wilmore Praised by Fake 'Trump' For Controversial White House Speech

3 May 2016 8:12 AM, PDT

Larry Wilmore received props from a fake Donald Trump on The Nightly Show Monday for his controversial speech at the White House Correspondents Dinner. Wilmore closed his roast with an appreciation of President Obama's service as the first black president: "Yo, Barry, you did it, my nigga!"

Earlier in The Nightly Show, Wilmore brushed aside a rebuke from Piers Morgan, who took umbrage with the host's word choice, but failed to "properly conjugate that slur" in his own article. "'Nigger' is what white people use to denigrate, demean and dehumanize black people, »

Melissa McCarthy Explains 'Very Confusing' 'Ghostbusters' Trailer

3 May 2016 7:15 AM, PDT

Melissa McCarthy admitted the first trailer for the female-fronted Ghostbusters was "very confusing" on The Johnjay and Rich Show after the first clip received enough "thumbs-down" votes on YouTube to place it among the 100 most disliked videos.

McCarthy explained that while the clip — and the slightly different second trailer — begins with a "30 years ago…" title card, the new movie is "not dependent on" the 1984 original and 1989 sequel.

"It's a reboot, not a remake," the actress said. "I know it's weird that they say '30 years ago,' but in this »

'WWE Raw': The Last Temptation of Aj Styles

3 May 2016 7:13 AM, PDT

The first Raw of the "New Era" began with a Stephanie McMahon promo and featured a feud built around the destruction of a potted plant (R.I.P., Mitch). In other words, we aren't exactly witnessing a wrestling revolution here.

And yet, coming off of Payback, a PPV that featured very little in the way of retribution (but plenty of interesting developments), last night's show still managed to rise above all the prefab talk of changing the game – and set the table for a series of compelling matches at Extreme Rules, »

Fed up with modern society's definition of motherhood, she cements a pact with two other moms (Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn) to rebel.

"We all work too damn hard trying to make our kids' lives amazing and magical," Kunis says with a drink in hand. "Their lives already are amazing and magical. »

What Jon Snow's Return Means for 'Game of Thrones'

2 May 2016 10:11 AM, PDT

Spoiler alert: Jon Snow lives!

The question is what, exactly, this spoils. For a vocal contingent of Game of Thrones' viewership, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch resurrection by the sorceress Melisandre, as seen on last night's episode, taints the whole damn thing. To some it's a cheap dodge of the life-and-death consequences that have made the show one of TV's most unpredictable pop-cultural phenomenons. And to faithful book-readers, the 11th-hour resurrection takes the wind right out of author George R.R. Martin’s sails, showing us something that »

Watch John Oliver Explain Beyonce, YouTube, Jeb to Cicadas

2 May 2016 8:52 AM, PDT

Scores of cicadas are predicted to emerge this summer in parts of five U.S. States, according to the New York Times. Last Week Tonight host John Oliver riffed on the influx of bugs by explaining nearly two decades of politics, technology and pop culture to the creatures in a web exclusive.

"A lot fewer people are calling it the Willennium than we thought they would in 1999," he said to a bunch of cicadas. "We voted in a second President Bush by a narrow margin and rejected a third President Bush by an enormous margin. »
