The widow of a pilot killed on the set of Tom Cruise's Pablo Escobar movie says her husband only died because the filmmakers put his life in the hands of an incompetent flier.

Alan Purwin, a veteran Hollywood stunt pilot, was working closely with Cruise on "Mena" last year. He was a passenger onboard a small plane that went down in the Colombian jungle on the last day of filming.

Kathryn Purwin is suing Cross Creek Pictures, the film's producer, saying Carlos Berl -- the man at the stick when the plane went down -- didn't have the "necessary skills" and had no business flying the aircraft. Berl was also killed in the crash.

Kathryn wants damages and funeral expenses from Cross Creek.

3:30 PM PST -- A rep for Prince tells TMZ, the singer has been fighting the flu for several weeks. He canceled 2 shows on April 7th but wanted to make Thursday night's performance in Atlanta, even though he was still not feeling well.

After the show, he got on a plane and felt considerably worse, so his plane made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois, where he was taken to the hospital and treated. He was released 3 hours later, got back on the plane and is now back home. 

Prince was rushed to a hospital early Friday morning after his jet made an emergency landing in Illinois ... TMZ has learned. 

According to our sources, Prince's private plane made an unscheduled landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline just after 1 AM. The singer was immediately transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

A source close to the 57-year-old singer tells us he's been released and is doing okay. The nature of the medical emergency is unclear.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer had performed Thursday night in Atlanta ... and he was in the air for only a short time before things went south.

Zac Brown got burned by staying out late and partying, but says he's learned his lesson after getting caught in the middle of a South Florida drug bust.

Zac finally talked about what went down at the Palm Beach Four Seasons a week ago, saying ... "I attended a private gathering at a Miami-area hotel and had only been there for a short time when police officers arrived and arrested two people in the room who had just showed up a few minutes before. I did not know these people and had no idea that there were drugs in their possession."

In his Facebook post, the country music star added, "Everyone is responsible for their actions, and I regret using poor judgment and putting myself in that position."

Zac's post confirmed the story TMZ broke about the drug bust of 4 people he was partying with in the hotel room. Zac did NOT mention the starstruck police officers who asked him for autographs and also lied to protect him.  

He also said, "My dad always said nothing good ever happens when you stay out late. It’s a lesson I learned the hard way last week, being in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Cops cuffed Rosario Dawson and hauled her away from the Democracy Spring rally in Washington, D.C. 

The actress was among a group of about a dozen people who crossed a police line and then sat down in protest. It's unclear what Rosario was booked for, but cops say about 100 people were arrested Friday ... mostly for crowding or obstructing.

The Democracy Spring rallies have been going on all week in D.C. to protest all sorts of causes.

Rosario was with a group protesting the corruption of big money in politics.

Lance Bass and Joey Fatone jumped ship for a night ... doing a more than respectable rendition of a Backstreet Boys song.

Lance is the featured performer on a Caribbean cruise. With Joey in tow they hosted some karaoke and broke into "I Want It That Way."

Slick Rick threw on his brand new Gucci underwear, went down to the court and became a U.S. citizen after 40 years in the country.

We got shots of Rick celebrating outside a NYC courthouse where he was sworn in on Friday morning. The British born rap legend said, "I am so proud of this moment -- and so honored to finally become an American citizen." 

Rick the Ruler's had immigration issues since 1990 when he did prison time for a self-defense shooting. He was eventually pardoned, but was threatened with deportation several times.

He's been working on becoming a citizen for more than 23 years. Rick says he'll have dual citizenship ... he's not giving up his British passport.

Rick moved to the Bronx in 1976 with his parents, and eventually met Doug E. Fresh in school. The rest is hip-hop history.

Zac Brown unwittingly ended up in a hotel room with strippers, condoms and cocaine ... so say sources connected to the country singer.

As we reported, Zac was in a Palm Beach hotel room a week ago at 2:30 AM when cops raided the suite and arrested 4 people for weed and coke. There were 3 strippers present, one of whom had 6 condoms and $1,000 cash in her purse.

Our Zac sources say he was out on the town earlier in the evening with a friend. The sources say the friend invited Zac to hang out with a bunch of guys in a hotel room and he had no idea strippers would show minutes after he arrived.

The sources insist Zac did nothing wrong ... he had not done any drugs nor had he done anything with the strippers. We're told the cops busted the joint 10 minutes after the strippers arrived.

The cops repeatedly lied to TMZ and said there was no evidence Zac was present, even though there's a police document listing his name. And as we reported, the cops were so starstruck they got Zac's autograph and even mocked one of the strippers for not knowing he was a famous singer.

Zac, we're told, asked the cops to keep him out of the police report because he has a wife and kids. Our Zac sources insist it was the cops who first offered to omit his name.

We've learned Zac had a prescription bottle and 2 of the pills didn't match the label, so cops asked Zac to supply proof he had a valid Rx for the pills. He later presented proof the pills were painkillers that were prescribed after minor surgery.

On the day reports swirled Eva and Ryan Gosling were expecting their second child, she was out running errands in L.A. and -- kinda foolishly -- trying to cover her baby bump with a tote bag. The couple's not confirming a pregnancy yet, but this pic says a lot.

Eva tried a similar tactic back in 2014 when she and Ryan were having their first kid.
