Set in the early/mid-1970s, the life and times of a record executive, Richie Finestra (played by Bobby Cannavale). His record company, American Century, has fallen on hard times and he is busy negotiating its sale to Polygram Records. We see how he started in the industry, the start of his company, its ups and downs, the casualties of his progress and what rock music means to him. Meanwhile, he is also an accessory to a murder. Written by grantss
hardly through episode 2 and it's just one big huge cringe. Love the era, love the music, yes there's some nice details but DAMN it's just embarrassing to watch even
and the lead character record exec just isn't talented enough to carry the plot and his character isn't even interesting. At times it's like watching an amateur theatre production.
rubbish direction, poor writing, bad editing, amateur acting, and MS and 'Jagger have their names on this as producers (?) damn shame.
and as for the building coming down in ep1 that was just utterly ridiculous - earth quake? no. it just ripped in half and collapsed for no reason.
still hanging on in there and will attempt ep3 but otherwise count me out. Damn, DAMN shame.
