13 hours ago | TVovermind.com | See recent TVovermind.com news »

First of all, I highly doubt that Idris Elba needs dating advice from anyone.  All he has to do is sit there and look at things and anyone on a date with him would be mesmerized.   However, Elba has in fact been divorced not once, but twice.  The film and TV star at least has a sense of humor about it. As part of a charity event sponsored by Omaze (an online fundraising company), Idris Elba announced an opening for people who’d like to be his date on Valentine’s Day about a month ago. Unsurprisingly, the news went viral pretty

Ever since production began in early November on Legendary's highly-anticipated Pacific Rim: Uprising, we've seen a handful of photos courtesy of star John Boyega. Today, we have a new image from director Steven S. DeKnight, which teases someone (or something) doesn't know how to follow instructions. This image hints at a massive security breach in the Pan Pacific Defense Corps. "restricted area."

Director Steven S. DeKnight posted the photo on Instagram last night, showcasing a Restricted Area sign at one of the Pan Pacific Defense Corps' facilities. It looks like part of the sign has been infiltrated, which, when paired with the filmmaker's ominous caption, could hint that the Ppdc has been invaded. Here's what the filmmaker had to say on Instagram below.

"Someone's not paying attention to the warning signs... #pacificrimuprising #ppdc"

It's possible that part of this sign was sliced off by a kaiju monster that doesn't exactly »

Madiba review – Nelson Mandela miniseries almost lives up to the legend

Kevin Hooks’s sprawling life story tries to load as much as it can into its three episodes starring Laurence Fishburne, but its completist approach feels thin

Trying to capture the essence of Nelson Mandela on screen is a tough gig. Just ask Idris Elba. In fact, for American or British actors, trying to do justice to any African leader or public figure can prove to be a surefire way for critics to question your likeness (or lack of it), strange-mannered accent and motives in portraying a continent’s most beloved sons. After Morgan Freeman, Danny Glover and Sidney Poitier, Laurence Fishburne is the next actor in the Madiba hot seat, playing Mandela from his mid-20s all the way up to his later years in a three-part miniseries. Who will win or could win the SAG Awards?

28 January 2017 10:30 AM, PST | FilmExperience | See recent FilmExperience news »

Last year, the Screen Actors Guild Awards had a ready-made anti-Oscar narrative with a slate of winners that features colorful casts (Orange is the New Black) and Idris Elba as the supporting actor winner during the #OscarsSoWhite backlash. This year, there's no clear media narrative and SAG even has to make do without a Best Picture frontrunner since La La Land is understandably not up for their top prize (Outstanding Performance by a Cast... also referred to as "Best Ensemble" by many). So what will they choose this year? Who knows!

Viola has won four SAG awards, two for How to Get Away With Murder, two for The Help

We'll find out tomorrow night but what we're most looking forward to the lifetime achievement tribute to Lily Tomlin which will happily be presented by her 9 to 5 co-stars Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton. But back to predictions. Will Viola Davis win »

The project has been in the works for several years, with Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker writing an early version of the script alongside Elgin James. Justin Tipping and Joshua Beirne-Golden, the writers behind last year's Kicks, wrote the most recent version of the script, for director Ricardo de Montreuil.
