Will Castle “Backstabber” Have M.I.6. Deep-Six Haley Shipton?

Castle season 8 episode 18 has a lot to live up to.  The last three episodes of Castle have been some of the best of the season in terms of positive viewer response.  “Fidelis Ad Mortem” was a strong dramatic case and within the realm of that case Captain Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) was shown to be the intelligent bad*ss woman that she’s been for years.  It also ended the ridiculous fake marriage breakup between Beckett and writer Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion). “Heartbreaker” gave us back solid bromance between detectives Kevin Ryan (Seamus Dever) and Javier Esposito (Jon Huertas) as well

Last Man Standing Review: Do Mike and Vanessa Need A “Marriage Doctor”?

Now, if you were to ask a friend who doesn’t watch Last Man Standing, what would they say about it? They would make an off-hand comment about the laugh track or the conservative jokes, right? This episode, if it were the only one they ever watched, would confirm those stereotypes. I still think this is a great show, and that this was a funny episode. But, it’s hard to make the argument that this show is more than comedy for Christian Republicans using only this episode. But, I think I can and I will try, anyway. More people should like this show.

The Originals Review: Are the Ancestors the Real Enemy Here?

Lucien and Aurora begin their new chapter of vengeance together by torturing Klaus on The Originals last night. It’s always tough to see the Original hybrid rendered so powerless but there’s no doubt this is only the start of another all-out war. Elijah comes through as best he can for his brother, by meeting Lucien’s demands of him. Of course Lucien had ulterior motives to kill him as a favor for Aurora. The Aurora/Lucien love story never was all too believable in my opinion. Even when they were humans, Aurora was so fixated on Klaus that she never gave Lucien

Hawaii Five-0 Review: When Elephants and Killer Robots Attack

Elephants, and NFL players, and robots, oh my! There was no shortage of wacky storylines in this week’s Hawaii Five-0. The team deal with so many oddball situations this week it’s hard to tell if they an elite task force or apart of a circus round-up. The team is called to a base for a secret defense contractor. After having the team sign confidentiality agreements, the director of the facility informs the team that an $80 million defense suit was stolen. The team furiously works to track down the suit since it is basically a fully functioning version of what

Madam Secretary Promo: Elizabeth speaks at the U.N and is there trouble in paradise for the Secretary?

Elizabeth and Henry McCord have been through thick and thin. The two of them have never argued to the point where it’s past the point of no return as they have always reconciled in the end despite their disagreements. In this upcoming episode of Madam Secretary, however, I fear that there will be trouble in paradise for Mr. and Mrs. McCord. The Secretary of State is giving her first speech to the United Nations where she will condemn the terrorist group Hizb-Al-Shahid and the notorious leader of the group, Disah. Elizabeth will also discuss with the Russian Foreign Minister about

The Vampire Diaries Review: The Boys are Back Again

The countdown is on with 48 hours on the clock to reunite Stefan’s soul into his body and who better than Damon and Alaric to be on the case together. It felt a little like old school Vampire Diaries with the dynamic duo back in action, only it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Damon’s had a few best friends throughout the years: Ric, Enzo, Bonnie. Looking at where he’s ended up with all of them now, it’s actually sad. As lonely and desperate Damon is to fix all his broken bridges with people, he needs to slow

iZombie: Five Brainy Predictions for Season 3

15 April 2016 4:52 PM, PDT

Like any great TV finale, iZombie left us with more questions than answers. Here are my top five predictions for how those questions will be answered in Season 3. The “new world order” will question Liv’s entire purpose. At the beginning of season 1, Liv woke from her depressed stupor with one goal: to help get justice for the deceased. But how much sense does that role make in a city that’s teeming with zombies? Almost any zombie could help the police solve murder cases by eating brains, after all. (I know Liv’s smarts make her better-than-average at helping the

The Endings to the 15 Toughest Nes Games of All Time

15 April 2016 11:33 AM, PDT

Yesterday I ran down what I thought were the 15 toughest Nes games of time. Although I had beaten several of them, there were many of which the endings were a mystery to me. Were they worth all the time, effort, and frustration? Were the endings glorious payoffs, affirming that my energy and focus were well spent? Or were they similar to Rygar’s ending, a brief graphic and some ridiculous text, as if Tecmo itself were giving me the middle finger? I decided to find the endings to the 15 toughest Nes games of all time, and you can see

When Movie Posters Get Dumbed Down to the Core: A Gallery

15 April 2016 11:13 AM, PDT

Sometimes you wish movies could be summed up appropriately in just a few words. For example, it’s kind of annoying when you see amazingly awesome trailers and posters for movies that wind up being terrible. Don’t get me wrong, I know that’s the whole point. They’re trying to get you in to see the movie and give up your hard earned dollars to do so. Still though, I’m waiting for the day for an honest movie studio to just tell it like it is. On the other hand, even if a movie is good, it’d still be kind of amusing

Realistic Popeye is Aaaaaaaahhhhh!!

15 April 2016 10:55 AM, PDT

From artist Rick Baker comes an image that no one who ever wants to make it through life with their childhood intact should ever see. I’ve seen realistic depictions of Mario and Homer Simpson, but this one takes the cake due to its exceptionally creepy pedo vibe.  Not to mention just an all around “everything else about this picture creeps me out” vibe.  I can just see this Popeye heading out on the town because he’s on leave.  Actually a horror movie is now coming to mind (surely because Rick Baker is the artist). Personally I’d want to see other

10 Memorable Fictional Pro Wrestlers in Movies

15 April 2016 10:39 AM, PDT

In the past, I’ve compiled a list of performances by wrestlers in movies, but what about the portrayal of wrestlers? Sometimes they’re portrayed as mindless meatheads, knowing only how to scream and bodyslam people. But as Mickey Rourke proved, sometimes wrestlers can be portrayed as real, complex human beings. And who plays these wrestlers in movies? More often than not, it seems, the best man for the job is a wrestler himself. Let’s take a look at 10 memorable fictional wrestlers in movies. And for the purposes of this list, I’m only considering the professional or “fake” wrestling type. Sorry,

15 of the Most Memorable Lines in Video Game History

15 April 2016 9:38 AM, PDT

This was an exceptionally hard list to write, as over the years there have been thousands of hours of written and recorded video game dialogue, but I had to finish this post before the sun dies, so I cut it down to fifteen. Some lines are classics that are older than me. Some are internet memes based on hilarious mistranslation. And some are throwaway, but they stick in your head because of how frequently you heard them. I’m sure I forgot your favorite as I’m so good at doing, but that’s why we have a comments section!  Anyway, enjoy what

Chris Hemsworth Explains How He Almost Died in the Himalayas on Jimmy Kimmel Live

15 April 2016 7:50 AM, PDT

Even though Chris Hemsworth will not be appearing in Captain America: Civil War as Thor, he still stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night during Marvel Week to promote a different sequel that he actually is a part of. The film, of course, is The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which also stars Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, and Jessica Chastain, and while all four of them appear to do some crazy, action-packed stunts during the movie, it was off-set where Hemsworth had his most dangerous experience. When Jimmy Kimmel asked the Thor star if he takes many trips with his family, since he’s traveling so much for work

Game of Thrones Possibly Ending After 13 More Episodes, Shortened Seasons 7 and 8

15 April 2016 7:09 AM, PDT

Game of Thrones may be coming to an end sooner than most fans were thinking. It has been rumored and speculated that the HBO fantasy series would conclude after eight seasons. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have shared their ideal plan for ending the show with Variety, and while their plan still sticks with those reported eight seasons, it would come with less episodes. “I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season,” Benioff said to Variety. “We’re heading into the final lap. That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone.” If the Game of Thrones showrunners

Game of Silence: Blood Brothers Unite

15 April 2016 12:17 AM, PDT

NBC’s newest drama Game of Silence doesn’t always move the fast in the present day, but if the flashbacks are any indication, you may want to stick around to see justice done. This week the show continues to mount the evidence against former Warden Carroll as Bobby, Gil, and Shawn lay their brother Boots to rest. They set out to put their abuser away according to the law, but whether or not that will remain the plan is yet to be seen. Following Boots’s funeral, Jackson, Gil, and Shawn are murder suspects. They all deny killing Darryl, and even Darryl’s

Grey’s Anatomy Review: Ben’s Lasting Choice

14 April 2016 10:42 PM, PDT

Grey’s Anatomy has had many two hour events, but it’s been awhile since there has been one that pitted husband and wife against each other. In this special two hour event, Bailey is forced to make a choice between being a loyal wife and a strong Chief of Surgery. The hospital goes into lockdown in order to find a missing child. Now when a hospital issues a Code Pink, every single  door in the hospital is locked, not just the doors to the outside. Karev finds his patient within a matter of minutes hiding behind some stairs. The 100 Review: Quoth Raven, “Nevermore”

14 April 2016 10:14 PM, PDT

As a huge fan of the way that The 100 evolves, it may be surprising to you what I say next: I really enjoyed this episode. That may or may not come as a shock to you depending on whether or not you read my reviews with any regularity. Generally speaking, I’ve disliked the stories involving Alie. But, this episode served up the perfect combination of new, intriguing story and compelling reunion tales, as several of the cast members from The 100‘s first two seasons came back into stories together. This week on The 100: Jasper and Clarke arrive with Raven, and they work with

The Blacklist Review: “Mr. Solomon: Conclusion” Deals a Devastating Blow

14 April 2016 8:03 PM, PDT

At first, I wasn’t sure what to think of this episode. The Blacklist, even in episodes heavily involved with the serialized story, usually stick to the status quo enough. But in the last two weeks, the “Mr. Solomon” saga has taken the show completely off the rails. But upon some reflection after watching tonight’s episode, I decided that balls-to-the-wall combined with devastating was exactly what The Blacklist needed. This week on The Blacklist: Mr. Solomon’s pursuit of Liz extends beyond the church. Liz is injured in the escape, and that causes the need for their baby to be born immediately. The baby is born , but

Legends of Tomorrow Season 1 Episode 11 Review: ”The Magnificent Eight”

14 April 2016 6:21 PM, PDT

This week’s Legends of Tomorrow took our time traveling legends to the Old West as we get fittingly introduced to DC Comics’ anti-hero Jonah Hex. Even though this is one of the more major and well-known characters from the DC Universe, I have never really encountered Jonah Hex that much in the books that I have read over the years. But hearing that the show would be making an episode set in the Wild West and using that as an opportunity to introduce that character onto the show, I was game. Despite that I have never really been into old

On ABC’s Castle Rick’s Magic Genie is Kate Beckett

14 April 2016 6:00 PM, PDT

Castle, “Death Wish” is thus far the best comedic episode of the season, and it’s definitely the most connected Caskett has felt in a while.  It’s even a decent episode for the series in general, which I don’t think I’ve said for any other comedy episode in Castle season 8.  With Castle season 8 episode 17 there are now three episodes I would watch again: “The Blame Game,” “Fidelis Ad Mortem” and, “Death Wish.”   I can’t say three out of seventeen isn’t bad, but the fact that these three episodes are all after the disastrous episode, “The G.D.S”  could
