I think everyone in this country should be aware by now that our race relations are at an all time low. It seems every time we hear the news another black citizen has been shot by the police or police have been shot by someone angry about these shootings. It cannot continue. We as a nation cannot keep going down this road.
I have always sympathized with Black Americans. In fact as a Scot and Irish American I have always sympathized with anyone who ever got pushed around, starting with Native Americans, Asians, Jewish immigrants, women of any ethnic group, Hispanics from any country.
I also sympathize with the people who are tasked with law enforcement. It’s a tough job. I had some training in that area. A couple of years ago I was hired by a Security company and was trained in unarmed, and armed, uniformed security. I »

Now that Leslie Odom Jr. has finished his run as Aaron Burr in 2016’s much-talked about Broadway show Hamilton, the actor seems to be setting his sights on the film industry once again. Variety reports that Odom Jr. is in negotiations to join the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express remake.
Murder on the Orient Express is, of course, a classic Agatha Christie mystery novel, which revolves around Hercule Poirot, a Belgian detective, who must solve a murder aboard a stopped passenger train.
While Odom Jr.’s role wasn’t revealed in the write-up, the outlet confirmed that Branagh will be playing Poirot; as of now, these are the only two actors attached to the project,

Leslie Odom Jr. is in talks to join the cast of Kenneth Branagh’s remake of “Murder on the Orient Express” at Fox, Variety has learned exclusively
Branagh will star as detective Hercule Poirot in addition to directing. Michael Green (“Blade Runner 2”) is writing the screenplay based on Agatha Christie’s novel, with Steve Asbell overseeing the production for Fox.
The film is based on one of Christie’s best known books, which was first published in 1934 and revolves around a murder of an American businessman on board the famous train — with multiple suspects.
Sidney Lumet’s 1974 version starred Albert Finney as Poirot and the cast included Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Jacqueline Bisset, Colin Blakely, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave and Michael York. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards and earned Bergman an Oscar.
Branagh will produce the film with Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg and Mark Gordon. »

Anthony Hemingway, who directed half the episodes of FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story,” recalls being on set with Cuba Gooding Jr., who played Simpson. They were filming a scene during episode four that showed O.J. behind bars, mentally unraveling.
“I literally just said, ‘Cry.’ And he, like a baby, started,” Hemingway says. “After we cut he started to curse me out: ‘Mother f—r. Only you can make me do this s—t.’”

Writer/director/actor Nate Parker, who some of you may recognize from films like Non-stop and Red Tails, made quite the splash at this year's Sundance Film Festival. With him, he brought the ironically-titled Birth Of A Nation, a film about slavery in the antebellum south in the U.S.
The film went on to get acquired by Fox Searchlight for a whopping $17.5 million, which is the largest deal the festival has had to date. In addition, the reviews for the film have largely been overwhelmingly positive. Given the weight of the source material, it's a film that many have been looking forward to seeing for some time. Now, with a release date of October 7 set, Fox Searchlight has released a teaser trailer for the film.
