Storyline

Providing comedy/news in the tradition of TV Nation and SNL's Weekend Update, Comedy Central's Daily Show reports on the foibles and of the real world with a satirical edge. In addition to news stories, the Daily Show also has celebrities (and semi-celebrities) on for interviews with the host, Trevor Noah. Lampooning everything from televangelists to Charlton Heston ("I did not play a homo in Ben-Hur"), and shamelessly assigning faux-news epithets ("Newt Gingrich: Giant Toddler") Kilborn, Winstead, and the crew actually manage to report some real news from time to time. Trivia

When the original host, Craig Kilborn, would conduct the celebrity interview segment of the show, it would conclude with the infamous 5 Questions, in which the guest would answer a series of five questions that were a combination of completely obscure facts and totally subjective opinions tailored to the guest. The format of the questions usually contained a geography question, a fill-in-the-blank style question where the guest was asked to fill in the blank with a word related to the guest, and a question in which the guest had to guess what Craig Kilborn was thinking at the moment. Quotes

Jon Stewart: What is this 'Party of Death' and what can we do to defeat it?
Ramesh Ponnuru: The 'Party of Death' is a term I use to describe all the forces in our politics and culture that are undermining the right to life.
Jon Stewart: And that would be in the domain of the Democrats, the media, and the courts.
Ramesh Ponnuru: And more broadly in the rest of society.
Jon Stewart: Now, I read your book. The rest of society isn't mentioned.

One anchor, four correspondents, zero credibility.

When a big story breaks, where do you turn for news coverage? CNN? FOX? BBC? CBC? No, no, no, and no. It's....Comedy Central? Oh yes. Believe it.

The Daily Show is the #1 fake comedic news show out there. Every weekday night on Comedy Central (or Comedy Network for me) Jon Stewart, officially the second funniest man in America, hosts a show that everyone needs to see. The whole show follows the main news stories of today and comments on them with hilarious political satire. Not only that, but everyday, a guest comes in for an interview. And I'm not talking guests nobody has heard of. We're talking about Bill Clinton, Matthew Broderick, Desmond Tutu, John Kerry, etc.

The Daily Show is definitely worth your time. Give it a try. You'll be glad you did.
