First Look Promo For Supergirl Season 1, Episode 20 Released

CBS has released the first promo for the season finale of Supergirl and it’s packed full of epic footage as Kara Danvers teams up with Martian Manhunter in a bid to stop Non once and for all. At just twenty episodes, this series has been a little shorter than the majority of superhero TV shows, but thanks to a relatively weak big bad, that’s not really the end of the world.

That complaint aside though, and the first season really has been pretty great. While it’s been widely reported that the show Will return, an official announcement hasn’t been made, so perhaps CBS are waiting until this finale airs before putting the focus on the next batch of episodes.

For more details on what to expect from this episode of Supergirl (titled “Better Angels”), here’s the official synopsis:

A Fan-Favorite X-Men Character Will Appear In The Next X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

Now that Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is out of the way, 2016’s next big superhero movie is of course Captain America: Civil War. However, following shortly after that is X-Men: Apocalypse, and with Bryan Singer clearly upping the stakes with this instalment, it may just end up stealing the show.

The trailers have so far done a great job of teasing the movie, but they’ve also arguably shown off way too much, as Fox is doing their utmost to make the film stand out from the crowd.

The first preview featured a shot of the bald Professor Xavier, while the second one offered up a glimpse of the final costumes which will be donned by the team at the end of X-Men: Apocalypse, essentially spoiling two major reveals which would have arguably been best off left for the big screen.

Spoilers to follow from this point on… »

Captain America: Civil War Character Bios Reveal New Details On Spider-Man’s Role

As we get closer to the release of Captain America: Civil War, Marvel has been revealing more and more details about the highly-anticipate threequel. Fan screenings are set to take place at the end of the week, and we’ll surely be learning a lot more about the film at that point, but until then, some intriguing new information has found its way online in the form of character bios.

Providing intel on where we pick up with these characters when Captain America: Civil War begins, these newly released bios also include some fairly major reveals about the new looks that many of The Avengers will have in this movie. In the case of The Vision, it sounds like he’ll be taking on the guise of Edwin Jarvis, a possible hint that Agent Carter‘s James D’Arcy will make a cameo appearance.

Of course, it’s Spider-Man who is the highlight here. »

Preacher Clip Finds Tulip Fighting For Her Life

Tulip makes quite the first impression. #Preacher is coming Sunday, May 22.https://t.co/O5KpPRfk3l

Preacher (@PreacherAMC) April 11, 2016

After this teasing glimpse of Joe Gilgun as Cassidy was released, most of us assumed the first sneak peek from Preacher would revolve around the vampiric Irishman – but as it turns out, AMC has given us a very tense, and ultra-violent clip of Tulip O’Hare (Ruth Negga) in action.

The clip, which aired during the season 2 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead last night, sees Tulip having to fight off two assailants while the car they’re in ploughs into a cornfield. After a scuffle, she manages to bite one guy’s ear off… and knowing the Tulip character, his day is about to get even worse.

This event never actually happens in Garth Ennis’ source material, but it’s pretty much been established that the small-screen adaptation kicks »

Psycho-pass: Mandatory Happiness Releases This September

Nis America has announced that PlayStation 4 and Vita owners will only have to wait a few more months until they can get their hands on Psycho-pass: Mandatory Happiness, as it’s set to release on September 13 in North America, and September 16 in Europe. The Mages developed title was also confirmed for a PC release (via Steam), but that version hasn’t received a firm date yet.

Based on the hit 2014 anime of the same name, Psycho-pass takes place in 2113. The world has understandably undergone some changes in 100 years, and now the government monitors the psyche of its citizens. Just thinking about committing a crime can now get people imprisoned, as they might be deemed mentally unsafe.

Mandatory Happiness will take place during the anime’s first season, but will star some new faces. Players will be able to choose to play as either Nadeshiko Kugatachi, an Inspector who is suffering from memory loss, »

Full Trailer For Penny Dreadful Season 3 Is Dark And Full Of Terrors

John Logan’s relentlessly dark Penny Dreadful returns next month for its third run, and today’s stylish full trailer for season 3 proves that if anything, Showtime’s beloved period drama continues to push the envelope with its gothic visuals and aesthetic.

Once again, we see Eva Green’s afflicted Vanessa toeing the line between sane and insane, while Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) appears to take a trip to New Mexico, which is presumably a journey that has some connection to his first encounter with a werewolf all those years ago.

One thing Penny Dreadful does so well is casting light on the tortured pasts of its core leads, and season 3 looks set to uphold tradition in style. Joining Green and Hartnett’s haunted personas are Kaetenay (Wes Studi), Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton), Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) and Lilly (Billie Piper).

Star Wars Actress Daisy Ridley Shoots Down Fan Theory On Rey’s Parentage

Following the debut of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, quite a few fans (and websites for that matter) concocted a rather baseless theory that the Jyn Erso character played by Felicity Jones may in fact turn out to be Rey’s mother.

There wasn’t any evidence for this, it just seemed like a quick solve to the mystery of who Rey’s real parents were and would have served as a connection between The Force Awakens and Rogue One – but Daisy Ridley is having none of it.

Here’s what the actress had to say to MTV when quizzed her about the theory at last night’s Movie Awards.

I’m not being funny you guys, but just because she’s white and got brown hair… it doesn’t mean she’s my mom. I think the amazing thing about [Episode VII] is that Finn and Rey don’t come from anywhere, »

Bloodline Season 2 Trailer Thrusts The Rayburns Into A Family Crisis

With little over a month to go until the show’s hotly-anticipated return, Netflix has rolled out a new trailer for Bloodline season 2, finding the flailing Rayburn family in crisis.

Much like the footage that’s been showcased before, today’s snippet does stray into spoiler territory, and unless you’re fully caught up with all of the unspeakable actions going on in Florida Keys, we’d advise you to avert your eyes in fear of ruining the surprise.

Upholding the brooding style of the inaugural season, the Bloodline season 2 teaser draws attention to John (Kyle Chandler), Meg (Linda Cardellini), and Kevin (Norbert Leo Butz), who spend their summer nights in deep reflection about their “unthinkable crime.” Yes, the Rayburns are in deep with the sharks at this point, and the show’s official logline portends all kinds of danger for John and Co.:

Star-Lord And Thor All But Locked For Avengers: Infinity War

Next year, Star-Lord and Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder will be attending to galactic affairs across Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, respectively, though the Russo brothers have all but confirmed that the heroes will be united for the two-part Avengers: Infinity War.

Set to drop across 2018 and 2019, Joe and Anthony Russo’s two-part juggernaut will act as the culmination of Phase Three in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a time when Thanos will take matters into his own hands to rain down destruction on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

More News From The Web

They’ll be a fragile bunch after the release of next month’s Civil War, too, though the Russo brothers have their eyes set on bringing all of Marvel’s power players under one umbrella. Per ComicBook.com, Anthony Russo began by heaping praise on both James Gunn and Chris Pratt’s portrayal »

Captain America: Civil War IMAX Poster Finds Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Divided

Embracing the ‘go big, or go home’ mentality with both hands, Marvel has premiered the IMAX poster for Captain America: Civil War, thrusting a wedge between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Considering that a handful of sequences were shot using IMAX cameras, chief among them being the threequel’s main action scene, the one-sheet is a handy reminder that the large-screen format stands as the best way to see Civil War when it drops in only a few weeks’ time.

More News From The Web

Alongside the poster debut, the studio also published a whole host of character bios for the film’s leading players. From Ant-Man to Captain America himself, each snippet offers a sense of context to every costumed hero, and how they’ve changed since the last time we glimpsed them on the big screen.

But perhaps the most intriguing of the bunch is the one attached to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, »

Netflix’s Iron Fist Enlists David Wenham As Harold Meachum

As Iron Fist teeters on the edge of production, Marvel and Netflix’s latest series has cast David Wenham (The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, 300) as Harold Meachum, an old confidant to Finn Jones’ headline star, Danny Rand.

Marvel officially confirmed the casting coup via press release, shedding light on Meachum’s character and his longstanding connection to Danny’s past and, in particular, his parents. In essence, Wenham’s suit is billed as “a ruthless corporate leader, Harold Meachum was partners with Danny Rand’s parents at the time of their deaths. What role he plays in Danny’s past and future will be revealed over the course of the series.”

Kevin Feige Concedes Inhumans Release Date Likely To Change; Ryan Coogler Will Co-Write Black Panther

Up until now it’s been a case of ‘so far, so good’ when it comes to Marvel’s release slate, with nary a box office bomb or glaring critical dud to be found. That largely extends to production schedules as well, though in brokering a deal with Sony for Spider-Man not to mention the somewhat unexpected announcement of Ant Man and the Wasp, the studio has reshuffled its superhero deck since first rolling out the schedule two years ago.

Of those films affected by the internal switcheroo were the languishing Captain Marvel and Inhumans, which were bumped to November 2, 2018 and July 12, 2019, respectively, once Tom Holland’s Peter Parker swung onto the scene.

How and ever, when it comes to the latter feature, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has conceded that the release date of Inhumans is subject to change.

DrinkBox’s Ps Vita Exclusive Severed Dated For April 26, New Screenshots Released

DrinkBox Studios, creative minds behind Mutant Blobs Attack and Guacamelee!, has unveiled release plans for its latest Ps Vita exclusive, Severed.

Set to slice and dice its way onto Sony’s handheld on April 26, the studio took to PlayStation Blog to confirm that its new IP will be available for $14.99 at launch, while PlayStation Plus subscribers are entitled to a 10 percent discount should they nab the first-person title during release week.

Ever the one to support PlayStation Vita, DrinkBox published an elevator pitch for Severed, describing its latest and really rather stylish title as “a first-person dungeon crawling adventure where you equip the carcasses of your enemies to gain their powers. You play as Sasha, a warrior who wakes up in a surreal fantasy world and sets off on a mission to find the missing members of her family.”

Though no pre-orders are available, budding fans can listen to the game’s official soundtrack. »

Creed Breakout Tessa Thompson Bound For Thor: Ragnarok, Natalie Portman Not Returning

Tessa Thompson is bound for the Seven Realms now that the Creed breakout has joined the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, replacing Natalie Portman as the threequel’s female lead.

Having played the role of Dr. Jane Foster across both Thor and The Dark World – not to mention off-screen mentions in the Avengers – word of Portman exiting the Marvel Cinematic Universe is fairly surprising. Incidentally, Thompson and Portman will soon share the screen for Alex Garland’s adaptation of Annihilation.

More News From The Web

That said, when it comes to today’s casting news, sources close to production cite that Thompson has closed a deal to play a fellow superhero opposite Chris Hemsworth’s returning God of Thunder, one who may very well be in line to star in multiple movies beyond Ragnarok.

Disney Cooking Up More Than The Bare Necessities As Jungle Book 2 Picks Up Steam

Mere days before the film’s theatrical bow in North America, it’s been revealed that Disney has opened talks to push ahead with a sequel to The Jungle Book.

The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop, revealing that the House of Mouse is currently in negotiations with Jon Faverau and screenwriter Justin Marks to return, a move that would involve Faverau producing the all-but-confirmed follow-up. No further details were disclosed at such an early stage, though surely those early talks will largely hinge on the box office success – or lack thereof – come Friday.

Placing newcomer Neel Sethi into the role of man-cub Mowgli, Faverau’s The Jungle Book is a glistening reimagining of the time-honoured fairytale, blending elements of live-action with some truly awe-inspiring CGI imagery.

But there’s a star-studded voice cast at play behind Favreau’s computer generated animal kingdom, including Idris Elba as the glowering Shere Khan, »

Charlie Cox Says The Defenders Will Shoot Later This Year, No Plans For Daredevil Movie Cameo

Charlie Cox will be donning his blood-red guise as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen later this year when Marvel’s The Defenders series enters production.

That’s according to the man himself, who recently touched base on the future of his blind vigilante beyond Daredevil season 2. While Cox conceded that there are currently no plans for that much-touted movie crossover, the British actor did outline a rough production timeline for Netflix and Marvel’s ensemble drama.

More News From The Web

Word comes by way of The Independent, who quizzed Cox about the status of the McU on the small screen. Riding high after Daredevil season 2, it seems that there is currently nothing to report about a potential season 3 – hardly surprising, given that both Luke Cage, Iron Fist and a second season of Jessica Jones will premiere beforehand.

Here’s what the actor had to share:

Kaskade And Zhu Remix “In The Morning”

Last week, Zhu posted the mysterious image above, leading many to believe that the producer had an upcoming collaboration with Kaskade in the works. Sure enough, that turned out to be correct. However, what we have isn’t an original. Rather, it’s a remix of Zhu’s “In The Morning.”

It’s not too far removed from what we heard back in February when the track first dropped, but Kaskade has certainly given the song a bit more of a kick, knocking up the tempo slightly and giving us some more groove while still retaining the cool, dreamy vibe that Zhu first injected into the original.

Overall, it’s a solid effort from the both artists and we can definitely say that we’re into it. It might not have been the original collab we were all hoping for, but when it comes to these two, we’ll take what we can get. »

Warner Bros. Aligning Tomb Raider Reboot For Fall 2017 Release, According To Report

Much like Dungeons & Dragons before it, the past few years have seen Warner Bros. struggling to make any tangible sign of progress on its long-gestating Tomb Raider reboot. True to the cliché of video game adaptations stalling in development, directors came and went before Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug was appointed at the helm.

Next up for Warner involves casting its title heroine, and the fact that Star Wars alum Daisy Ridley is reportedly circling the coveted role of Lara Croft – picking up the tank top and dual pistols from Angelina Jolie – indicates that the project is further along than we perhaps first realized.

Case in point: Heroic Hollywood is reporting that the studio is aligning its action-adventure tentpole for a release in late 2017 – October 6, 2017, to be exact. Details remain thin on the ground for now, but as we learned last week, Warner Bros. appears to be reining in its focus »

10 Comic Book Characters You Probably Didn’t Know Were In Marvel Movies

Over Marvel’s 75 year history, there have been literally thousands of heroes, villains, sidekicks and characters of all sorts running around their funny pages. As such, those in charge of adapting their comics to the big screen are spoilt for choice over which individuals to include.

This would explain, then, why Marvel movies routinely feature pretty significant characters from the source material hidden in smaller roles. For instance, think how Curt Connors, one of Spider-Man’s greatest enemies in the comics, appears in Spider-Man 2 and 3 but never turns into the Lizard.

More News From The Web

That one is a pretty obvious example, however, which most people with even a passing interest in comics could spot. The most ardent Marvel fan, though, would be hard pressed to notice many of the other ones on this list.

Salvatore Samples Enya On “Dive” Ft. Alex Aris

Just when you think you’ve heard everything, an Edm artist repurposes an Enya track from the ’80s as a melodic trap song. Swedish DJ/producer Salvatore may be known for high-energy productions like last year’s “Money in my Mattress” and “Hit It From the Back,” but “Dive” sees him take a distinctly more melancholy approach.

The ambient melody and soothing vocals of Enya’s “Boadicea” from the group’s 1986 album The Celts are largely left untouched in “Dive.” Salvatore’s 808 drum rolls and pitched-up synth work are added on top of it, with Alex Aris’ crisp vocals soaring over all the other production elements.

Before this track, Salvatore had gone the better part of a year without any new releases to show for it. Perhaps now that festival season is under way, though, fans can expect more regularity.

In the meantime, listen to Salvatore‘s “Dive” featuring Enya »
