Question:“What is the point of large lists?” Lists like this have a "Refine list" feature (located in the right hand side of the page), which is a powerful filtering tool. With this tool one can exclude all of the films that one has already "rated"(seen), or that are in the >>>>> "watchlist", or exclude films that have been rated below lets say 6/10 stars, etc. With this list you get the ability to filter the list any way you like... to drill down on the exact content that you are looking for. All filters can be used at the same time, in any combination.

When I was doing the Kings and Queens list I thought of this and it looks like it will be a two parter --- Thanks for leaving a comment but I will not be joining Facebook so I do not know what message you left
Historical fiction and period films where the story takes place in the 19th century or earlier. The titles are in on particular order. See also the Biography genre
Okay, some of these are more myth than legend. Some are more legend than history. Some are more or less history. I'm doing from prehistory up to WWII, mainly Western History then American History.
My purpose here is to create a list of movies that would help to give a gist of some Indian history. I do not recommend that you rely on these movies for absolute accuracy, though some are better than others. (Gandhi for instance, is much more closely documented than Ashoka the Great, which is a song and dance extravaganza that loosely relates to the life of the subject).
I do believe that these movies are useful for introductory purposes. Before accepting anything in these sorts of movies as fact, I recommend doing some background checking. But these movies might motivate you (as over the years they have motivated me) to care enough to do some serious research and reading.
