Tip: Get rid of the annoying cord on your Olympus charger
2 days ago

I know many people have switched to 3rd party chargers but I found my OEM Olympus batteries would not always charge with the 3rd party chargers, which is a shame since the 3rd party chargers are often times small and convenient, where as the Olympus charger has that long and stiff cord which makes it a pain to pack away. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

So I did some looking into the type of cord used by the charger and found that the end that plugs into the charger is something called IEC C7. From there I was able to find a right angle EN 60320 IEC C7 adapter that will stick right into the charger and plug directly into the wall.

You can find them on ebay and on Amazon for less than $10. You may also have one from an older Apple or Samsung charger as they sometimes make a single charger with multiple plug types. I believe you can find other types of plugs that will also fit for Europe, etc.

Anyways here's a couple of pictures, as you can see it makes the OEM Olympus charger smaller and allows direct plugging into the wall.
