Apparently there was  a crude AF system on the OM-30 - mainly focus confirmation - and an actual very rare AF lens.

They dumped the OM mount after 25 years when it was technically obsolete.

Canon replaced the FD mount for the same reason when they moved to AF.

Did you expect Olympus to introduce digital OM cameras without AF ?

Olympus made OM mount cameras with AF.

Olympus NEVER made OM mount cameras with AF. They did make a couple of unsuccessful and rather clumsy AF cameras that never caught on. The OM lenses had neither the in-lens focus motors that are used in modern AF-systems nor the gear mechanisms that were used to drive lens from in-body focus motors that were used in some earlier AF systems, like Nikons. Olympus also never developed the complex work-around that certain (Zeiss-Yashica) Contax bodies used to precisely move the film plane in relation to the lens flange.

Olympus, though it has lead in other innovations, like Live-View, and partly through that, EVIL cameras, was a latecomer to interchangeable lens camera AF, and has been playing something of a catch-up game.

(I know this as an active Olympus user since 1973.)
