It's to make money out of the people who are stupid enough to pay for the privilege of beta testing it for the rest of us. Wait a while until all the bugs and manufacturing faults have been fixed ...

Well a fixed lens camera is a more viable proposition. No system to build round about it. They could buy in a Sony sensor and have the optical expertise to develop a very good lens. And people are ...
-
I'm afraid it doesn't matter if it's mirrorless or a DSLR. People are loyal to their systems and have built up large lens inventories and will not change for a system with a handful of lenses. And ...

I'm pretty sure, now that this is on its third version, that this will be selling just fine. Not everybody is obsessed with pixel peeping and for most people this will work fine as a versatile...

People have been taking 'snapshots' since the original box brownies. Smartphones are much more capable than the 126 and 110 cameras (with flash cubes) that I started out with and are all that the...

How many people are likely to buy an Olympus FF camera ? It has to be commercially viable. Most people who buy into FF expect a full range of lenses or accessories and that will take many years to ...

That also applies to many other things like cars for example. A Ford Fiesta is much harder to design and build to a £12k retail price than a Ferrari at £150k. The Fiesta has to be roomy enough for...

Sam, I'm surprised that you're even looking at other camera systems given your love for the E-M10 mk2. Or at least that was the case a few months ago ??

No, it's because the extra 10% isn't relevant for most of the people using these products. Would you (to use another analogy) buy a dull looking car that was 10% faster than a beautiful looking, ...

It was the first generation. However most of the issues were not related to the new technology but stuff they'd been manufacturing (assembling) for a long time on their DSLR range and should have ...

The support of the E-M1 has been excellent in Europe from what I've read (haven't used it myself) with their courier pick up and return service and fast turnaround.

I suspect there will be someone somewhere out there but I do agree screens falling off haven't been an issue but cracked screens were with the original E-M5. I haven't seen any reports of cracked ...

Actually there were a number of people who had issues with the original E-M5 screen. It was overtightened screws causing the glass to crack Of course there were then some other people getting out ...

Though mainly an Olympus user my last camera purchase was a Panasonic LX100. That tin foil hat seems to be working...

It's not the tech, it's the 'showroom' appeal. Most m43 buyers will be casual photographers, not the spec geeks that inhabit this place. They buy a camera every five years and it is a luxury purchase.

I'm pretty sure they will if the camera manufacturer is prepared to pay for it.
