One day after her death, Patty Duke's son Sean Astin has said that his mother was "at peace" when she died. "She was surrounded by her family. It was in the middle of the night and it was a race to get there," Astin, 45, told Entertinament Tonight. "It was a very powerful experience. And then, in her last moments, she was at peace. " Duke died on Tuesday, after a battle with sepsis that was a result of a ruptured intestine, which Astin told Et had left his 69-year-old mother "suffering terribly."
