Marvel Heroes Appear In "Spider-Man" Reboot

With Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures now enjoying a mutually beneficial friends with benefits arrangement in regards to their stable of superheroes, one obvious question about their deal has been officially answered today.

We all know Tom Holland will make his debut as the new Spider-Man in "Captain America: Civil War" in a few weeks. Holland will then go on to film his own "Spider-Man" reboot which hits cinemas July 2017. One thing that has been routinely speculated about the latter, but unconfirmed at this point, is if already established characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (McU) might show up in it.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirms to EW that it's happening, saying: "He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth." Feige won't say who from the McU would appear, 'Civil War' director Joe Russo jumped in and jokingly said: "Let's just say. »

James McAvoy Up For More "X-Men" Movies

With Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" wrapping both the story and the contracts for much of its cast, it has been widely expected that those involved such as James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult won't be returning for any future "X-Men" films.

Talk of that changed the other week when Lawrence, who had previously indicated reluctance to come back, seems to have changed her mind a bit saying that she's "dying to come back" for further film or films.

Now her co-star McAvoy has also expressed interest in returning to his role at some point. Translated from French website Linternaute (via Cb), McAvoy admitted straight up he's game: "If they want me to, I'll do more, yeah." He also talked about Lawrence's potential involvement:

"Yeah, I've heard… people have said she's not into it, stuff like that. She's always said to me that she would think about it. »

"Edge of Tomorrow 2" Scores New Scribes

"Race" scribes Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have been brought in to script the sequel to the Tom Cruise-led sci-fi feature "Edge of Tomorrow" for Warner Bros. Pictures.

The initial report said "Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation" writer/director Christopher McQuarrie, who penned the first 'Edge', has also become attached to direct this sequel. McQuarrie himself has since corrected this on Twitter, saying the first film's helmer Doug Liman is returning and it won't happen without him.

McQuarrie and Cruise are currently busy with "Mission: Impossible 6" commitments but could jump to this shortly after. McQuarrie also re-affirms he's still involved in the 'Edge' sequel despite Shrapnel and Waterhouse coming onboard - he'll likely serve in a writer/producer capacity.

McQuarrie is familiar with Shrapnel and Waterhouse, the pair recently came onboard and wrote a new draft of his script for the adaptation of Mark Greaney's novel "The Gray Man »

Pedro Pascal Joins The "Kingsman" Sequel

Though only appearing in a handful of episodes during the fourth season, actor Pedro Pascal made a major name for himself as fan favorite Oberyn Martell in HBO's "Game of Thrones".

Now, the actor has joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn's upcoming sequel "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," taking on a role where the only detail at the moment is that he's named Jack Daniels. It's unclear if he's the "swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy" style agent character who apparently plays a key role in this mostly U.S.-set outing.

Pascal will join returnees Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Edward Holcroft for this follow-up to "Kingsman: The Secret Service," while Halle Berry is set to play the head of the CIA and Julianne Moore is in talks to play the villain.

The first film became a sleeper hit last year, grossing a whopping $415 million. Pascal also stars in "Narcos »

Naughty Dog Not Discounting "Uncharted 5"

In the promotional lead-up to the release of PlayStation 4's major exclusive "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," it has been made pretty clear that this will be game studio Naughty Dog's final title in the series.

That said, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann tells Games Radar that he's fine with another studio picking up where they left off - so long as the quality doesn't slip:

"If they made a great game I'd be excited. I'd want to play an Uncharted I didn't work on. It'd be a lot of fun... Obviously we would have a big part in it as the creators of the franchise, we'd just want to make sure they get the essence of it right. Uf there's a studio that can do that then great. If not then it's okay that this is the last one."

A move like this wouldn't be unprecedented. Sce »
