Upload and Preview Book Content
In Step 1 (Your book) of the book editing process, scroll down to Upload Your Book File.
To upload your book content file:
Under the next step, Preview Your Book, choose the Online Previewer or Downloadable Previewer to see an approximation of how your eBook will look on various Kindle devices. The preview won't display product details such as title and author name, but those details will be included in your eBook when it's published on the Kindle Store.
The Online Previewer is quicker and easier and emulates how most books will appear on Kindle devices and apps, iPad, and iPhone.
If your book is fixed layout (for more information on fixed layout, see the Kindle Publishing Guidelines), the Online Previewer will only display your book as it will appear on Fire. If you'd like to preview your book for Kindle Touch or Kindle DX, you'll want to use the Downloadable Previewer.
Important: If you're uploading a textbook with interactive features, those features will not display in the Online Previewer or the Downloadable Previewer. You'll need to use the Kindle Textbook Creator previewer, or download the beta version of Kindle Previewer 3.1 (Beta).
To upload your book content file:
- Click "Browse."
- Navigate to your book content file on your laptop or desktop computer.
- Select your book content file and click "Open."
- We'll start converting your file to Kindle.
