Kindle MatchBook

Kindle MatchBook gives customers who buy a print book from Amazon.com the option to purchase the Kindle version of the same title for $2.99 or less. If you have a print version of your title on Amazon.com, you can enroll the Kindle version in Kindle MatchBook and earn Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) royalties based on the Promotional List Price (choose from $2.99, $1.99, $0.99, or free) for any Kindle MatchBook sale.

Eligibility

Whether you're a U.S. or international publisher, you can create a print version of your book at CreateSpace for distribution through Amazon.com.

Enrollment

Once the print version of your book is up for sale on Amazon.com, you can enroll the digital version in MatchBook by following these steps:
  1. Log in to your Bookshelf: https://kdp.amazon.com/bookshelf
  2. Click on the ellipsis button ("…") under the Book Actions menu next to the book you want to enroll and select "Enroll in Matchbook."
  3. From the "Rights and Pricing" page scroll to step 9 and check the box "Enroll this book in the Kindle MatchBook program," click the dropdown menu, and choose your discounted price.
  4. Scroll down and accept the Terms & Conditions.
  5. Click "Save and Publish."
If you want to cancel your book’s enrollment in Kindle MatchBook, select the title you want to opt out of the program and uncheck the box labeled "This title is enrolled in Kindle MatchBook. Uncheck to opt out of the program."

Royalties

Your royalties will be based on the Promotional List Price you set and your selected royalty option.

For example, if you are earning 35% royalties for sales of your digital book at its regular Digital List Price, you will earn 35% royalties on Kindle MatchBook sales calculated at the Promotional List Price.

See the Pricing Page for additional details on the 35% and 70% royalty options.
