Adding a Kindle Countdown Deal
Before you add a promotion, keep these things in mind:
1. Customers are more likely to buy when the price is discounted. We recommend that you consider a compelling discount, perhaps starting at 50% or more.
2. Ensure that your cover image, product description, and Kindle book formatting are exactly as you want them to appear.
3. Drive more traffic to your book:
• Let your readers know via email, your website, social media, etc.
• Ask others (friends, fellow authors, blogs) to promote your Kindle Countdown Deal.

Books enrolled in KDP Select on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk are eligible if their list prices fall within these limits:
• $2.99 - $24.99 (Amazon.com)
• £1.99 – £15.99 (Amazon.co.uk, including VAT)
• £1.99 – £15.99 (Amazon.co.uk, including VAT)
Here are some other parameters for scheduling Kindle Countdown Deals:
• Your book has been enrolled in KDP Select for at least 30 days
• The digital list price for your book cannot change for 30 days before or 14 days after your Kindle Countdown Deal runs
• The minimum discount for your book is $1.00 USD on Amazon.com (£1.00 on Amazon.co.uk)
• The maximum duration of a Kindle Countdown Deal is 7 days, and the minimum duration is 1 hour
• The duration you choose will run as a single promotion and cannot be split up into multiple durations
• The maximum number of price increments is 5
• The latest end time for your Kindle Countdown Deals promotion is 14 days before your KDP Select period ends. However, if you renew your book in KDP Select for another consecutive 90-day period, the latest end time for your Kindle Countdown Deal can fall on the last day of your current KDP Select period.

To add a Kindle Countdown Deal promotion:
1. Find the book you'd like to set up in your Bookshelf
2. Under the Book Actions menu, click Promote and Advertise
3. Under Run a Price Promotion, select Kindle Countdown Deal.
4. Click Create a new Kindle Countdown Deal for this book.
5. Enter your selections for marketplace, date and time, number of price increments, and starting price.
6. A table appears, listing the price increments and start times. Check the table to make sure it's how you want the promotion to run. You can make edits in the table.
7. When you're satisfied with the deal, click Add Promotion.
Once you add your promotion, it appears on your book details page on the KDP Select Benefits tab.
To change or cancel your promotion:
From the KDP Select Benefits tab, you can edit or cancel your promotion up to 24 hours before the promotion starts. You will not be able to change the list price for your book within 30 days before the promotion, nor within 14 days after the promotion.
